Not much is known at this point other then the story revolves around a building superintendent who finds a sea nymph in his apartment building's pool.

He's going after Bryce Dallas Howard for the sea nymph roll and Paul Giamatti as the super.

Being a fan of Nights films and if these two get the lead rolls this should make for a good film. Production is set to start in August with a 2006 release.

if it's done by M. Night, I'll be busy drinking rubbing alcohol that night. At least that'd be more fun.

I can't really argue with your thoughts, but I do think he has the ability to be a very good actor. I think his ideas are fantastic, but he has a hard time pulling his stories together and making things seems less hokey.

Great is small doses taken far enough apart to be surprising each time. Taken too close together, or too often dilutes the effect he is going for.

Hitchcock, Michael Mann, Tarentino etc. all have signature looks or feels, but seem to know how to space out the experience far enough apart to renew themselves each time.

    M. Night could learn from them.

i didn't know that. Is it like a Stan Lee / Quentin Tarentino thing, where he has a bit part?

IMDB can probably settle this question for me.

Village - He worked for the city kinda like a grounds keeper. He was in the office with the young kid telling the story about the issue years back with the plane that flew overhead...

Signs - He was the local guy who was kinda odd. Gibson walked up and talked to him for a bit while Night was in the truck and was telling Mel that he was moving to some lake somewhere...

Only two I can think of off the top of my head.

Thought provoking films aren't for everyone. Personally, I like his movies. I think they're good enough to be recorded with a mono soundtrack and filmed in black & white.

    Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
    Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
    DAC: Arcam irDac

Hey if those two are in it I will definitely watch, she is yummy and Giamatti has been brilliant in his last couple of leading roles (Sideways and American Splendor).

I too really like his films...Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were both great IMO; I did think Signs and the Village lost some steam towards the end, but hey, even Hitchcock had a few duds. I'm not saying I think M. Night is a modern-day Hitchcock, but I do think he is very good at creating suspense.

I cant get the trailer to work. "Bad movie atom". WTF is that?

Ill wait til this comes out on DVD and then wait til it hits the $.99 rental bin. Ive been burnt one too many times by M. Night Shittymovie to ever pay full price at the theater again for one of his movies.

    Review

I loved Sixth Sense. Hated Unbreakable. Didn't bother with Signs. Thought The Village was tolerable.

I think chances are I won't like this one either. Maybe wait for the dvd.

I loved The Village despite the critics hating it. M. Night has earned my respect to watch whatever he releases. The guy is a bit of an egomaniac, but whatever.

I can see why some would really hate his style. For me, the guy is the ultimate at setting a mood with great cinematography. The one movie of his I liked the least was Signs.

Althought the trailer looks very good, I have never forgiven M Night Shittymovie for The Village.

Im sure this will turn out to be stupid as well.

Ill wait til this hits HBO....or maybe FX.

Just watched this (HD-DVD), loved it. Great fairy tale film, well done and some great acting. Oh and the HD-DVD PQ and SQ, excellent, the TrueHD track was outstanding.

Watched it last night. It was very weird and kinda corny, IMO. The acting was very good, though. The animal beast thing was very well done, too. I'd say rent it only if you have absolutely nothing else to do.

Watched this movie last night. While I admit that I am in the nmnority and really like all of his movies, I feel this was one of his better ones. Weird? Yeah. Corny? Sure. Entertaining? ABSOLUTELY. I love the way that is films are done - he's definitley an egomaniac. He personally plays a much larger role in this movie than he has in his previous ones. The way that the fairy tale is being told through the Chinese daughter is hilarious - movie is funny, suspenseful, scary. Say what you want about the guy; I don't let that jade the facts that the movie was well worth the rental fee; a possible buy for me.

He played "Miles" in that one. I just did a search of him on the internet movie database and see he's been in (or will be shortly) close to 57 movies. Amaze me. I never noticed him until I saw Private Parts (1997).
