    Gary uses Amperex, but they are simply white label....not Bugle Boy. At least that's what I had when I purchased it.

    I thought the Jolida used a 12AU7? That's not an interchangeable tube for the Dodd, just so you know. Toss the Jolida's and pick up some NOS JAN.

    The Jolida has a big 6DJ8 right on the side. I had to check though. Thanks for pointing that out.

    One of the Amperex tubes has about half the Bugle Boy rubbed away. Its clearly the same, but looks like hell compared to his twin. I shall be careful.

    This sounds like a great preamp from from I've heard. I'm just now starting to put together my 2 ch system, and it looks like I'll throwing this in the mix of options.

    Congrats on a very nice system you are putting together. You have definitely been making some very solid choices and will be rewarded accordingly.

    My Jolida cd player came with stock Chinese tubes.

    Here's a nice list of 6DJ8 tubes to select from. I like the Brimars and the NOS Jan. I also own the Bugle Boys. Really comes down to personal preference ... all great tubes.

    shipping from Tx. to me in Ga. was around 10.50, considering you are farther south in God's waiting room, might be a bit more, better get it quick before gas is 5.00 bucks a gallon.

    Well, I'll say this, it will be the LAST 2ch preamp you buy, unless you plan on spending $1000 +.

    Just like Signal Cable, when I see a value, an OBVIOUS value, I will try my best to hook fellow members up.     Well folks, I won't be posting much for a while. My amp showed up today. The tubes are warming up. Its all hooked up and now I am just selecting what music I want to listen to first.

    The signal cables are still a week away tops, but I can get by until then.

    I must say, DHL hauled **** getting my amp from Miami to Seattle in 3 days. According to their package tracker, it got from Ohio to my door in 28 hours. I'm not sure thats possible if it stays on the ground. Hell of a lot faster than UPS or Fedex anyways.
