I have planned to have Rti8 as my two floor standing speakers and planning have one of the three rcvers based on my research in the internet
a) Marantz 5400
b) Denon 2805/2105/1905
c) Yamaha RX 650
d) HK 135
Music is foremost for me and but I want a multichannel system so that I can upgrade later with surround speakers. I want opinion from folks who owned Polk RTis on which of the above sounds the best.

Go with what you like the most. I'm sure there are good and bad points on each of the listed receivers. Search at ecoustics.com for editorial reviews. A comparo/shootout would be best if you can find one. All that said, I'm partial to Denon receivers. I've had a 2802 for almost 3 years and still loving it. That initial choice was hard though. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I too am partial to the Denon. I've had mine for 4 years with no issues whatsoever. Works well for HT and music IMO."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

How can you compare when you're saying a $380 HK vs. a $450-700-900 denon?Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.
Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -
I'd go with the Denon 2805. But I would suggest you look into the Rotel Rsx1056.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Marantz / Denon, they sound similar.
Or get a higher model HK, like 330 / 440.
