Monster cable is a good place to start your wire adventure. They make good quality cables and for a price I find to be solid.

    Go for it.

If you do a quick search for moster on this forum, you will see that it is not highly regarded. I won't get into the full details, but it boils down to company practices.

What speakers did you end up getting? This will play a part in determining quality of wire.

Also, how far are your speakers from your receiver/amp?

For most front speakers, including the center, 14 guage wire will usually be sufficient.

16 guague will usually work for surrounds.

Take a look at www.partsexpress.com for reasonable prices on decent wire.

edit: Mantis jumped in while I was typing. I agree that Monster is good quality for the price. I just don't agree with how they do business. That is why I don't recommend them.

hi, i got a rt600, cs245, fx300i for the speakers and distance to the receiver for front are just like 6 feet away.......for the surrounds maybe they are around 25feet away.

if so, what cables would you reccomend.

    for the surrounds

go to lowes or HD and pick up some 50 foot rolls of 16 awg, 10 bucks...

Dont go all out or even TRY to go anywhere with the surrounds

for those 16awg wires....are they the stranded type instead of a single copper strand?
