The other day, a buddy at work was using the real song as a demo and when it started, this 17-18yr. old kid was like "Hell yeah, Korn..." My buddy turned to him and said "You've got to be kidding me." The kid's dad looked like he wanted to shoot him. It was classic yet so scary for mankind. Why must we take big honking **** on masterpieces? I wanna fingerpaint the monalisa and call it art.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

I've heard both versions, and I like them both.
I just like the darker sound of Korn...
And I definetely like the remake of Word Up...
Did yall know Korn's lead guitarist quit?

cover songs by other muscians rarely if ever works. period.
Esp the Wall. It's a classic and will always be tied to PF. KORN shouldn't mess with stuff like that. It's wrong.
KORN, gimmee a break. I'd rather have Weird Al do it instead.
the ONLY reason bands do cover songs is because they can't write anything on their own.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Not many kids listen to Pink Floyd...
Alot of kids listen to Korn...
This is a way to share a great song with kids...
Get over it.
And BTW - Korn has written 6 hit CDs...they ARE a successful band...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
hey. don't tell me to get over it.
today kids as you stated, listen to KORN and not PF.
Not saying that PF is the only good band out there. but c'mon, some kids just have no respect for the masters of music if you will.
Seriously, 20+ yrs from now.. are you going to request the Wall by KORN on the radio? The Wall still gets plenty of airplay. It's a classic. This is music that will live on forever. It's in some cases one of a kind music.
If KORN wants to do cover songs.. they can have the entire catalog of Celine Dion AND Britney Spears.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I think Korn could "Genie In A Bottle" yuck... LOL
I agree, but Korn will still live on even after their gone... they are a big band with a huge fan base...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Pink Floyd are a good band but so is Korn.

That Korn CD is great for working out your subs too.

I was playing Led Zepplin's Kashmire & my roommate asked me if I could turn down my puff daddy, pretty sad.

Thats an understatement man...
I've hit upwards of 120 db with Korn songs...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

LMAO!!!
Very sad indeed!
The bands from yesteryear should ban modern groups from covering their hits. When I saw Puff Daddy with Jimmy Page on Saturday Night Live years back doing that "Kashmir" song, I jsut looked at Jimmy Page and said...Sellout!
Don't give me this artistic impression BS...it's a sellout for $$$$!
John Bonham most likely rolled over twice in his grave from that butchering.
Korn....BAHHHHHHHH

I listen to Pink Floyd... infact I own Darkside of the moon, momentary lapse of reason, the wall and wish you were here along with a big black fabric pf banner with the dsotm prism on it.. (still need to add some more of their albums to my collection of cds)

Ok. I spoke to soon. A friend made me a compilation CD.. and one of the songs included on the CD was.. Word Up by Korn.
I gotta say it's not half bad. Close enough to the original that it's listenable to my ears. I'm not changing my stand. and i'll never been a Korn fan.. but i was mildly impressed with their remake of the song.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I count 20 different kids a day in a DSOTM shirt everyday at my school, Korn - 0. -
I haven't heard Korn that I know of but I DO know that what passes for talent in today's music industry isn't even in the same area code as much of the talent of 20-30 years ago.
Where are the Eric Clapton's, Rolling Stones, Led Zep's, PF's etc etc??
Bunch of no talent **** clowns.

The Korn songs I like the best, I've never heard on the radio. Their riffs are very bass guitar heavy, so you need "mains that blend seamlessly with the sub." lol
-
I ordered the Korn CD, along with my latest batch of music. Looking forward to giving it a spin. The track listing isn't what I thought it would be, I figured it would have some more of thier earlier work that I'm familar with.
Should be here in a couple days.
I agree Troy, lots of no-talent ac's out there today. But then again, how many times can I listen to the SAME **** OVER and OVER. I find some of the 'newer' stuff refreshing, if sometimes just for the fact its something DIFFERENT.

It seems like it, but you just have to look around really carefully. The new groups just don't get played 30 times a day on the radio. -
My favorite CDs from Korn have to be Issues, Untouchables, And Take a Look in the mirror...
Their latest CD (take a look in the mirror) really goes back to their roots... none of this rock BS...nothing but metal, foul language (lol), and heavy guitar riffs...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
haha it's funny you say that because Follow The Leader was ok but that was the death of Korn IMO. everything since just doesn't seem to be them anymore. They've started to travel the violent road and although that can be cool, it just has never really set well with me coming from Korn. Not to mention (again), since I heard the Wall cover, I lost 98% of my respect for them.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

I also agree with this. It's so hard to get a good cd today. But I don't give up. Todays music , rock that is , seems to have some good and alot of bad. I buy there cd's and one out of 3 or 4 are keepers.
heres some good ones to try.

Old Korn is some good stuff; new Korn is Krap. Half the songs on the greatest hits CD shouldn't be there.
I'd consider myself a fan of Korn. I have all there CDs, the live concert DVD, and I've been to see them live 4 times. If you want a good concert DVD, get the Korn concert DVD its got lots of older stuff on there. -
I personally think that "The Wall" cover is just plain bad. A friend of mine inserted this into the song when it came on the radio one day--"Hey Korn, Leave this song alone" instead of the "Hey Teacher, leave those kids alone.""I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."
