Because I Have Nothing Better To Do

My longtime friends and antagonists know of my love for taking my speakers apart and doing little tweaks to the cabinets, grilles, and crossovers to improve the sound. In most cases, the improvements are small, but noticeable. In the past, I have confined my "sonic surgeries" to my beloved SDA's.
Now, I have decided to try my soldering iron on one of Polk's newer products: the RT55i. I was recently shocked at the vast improvement in sound quality when I switched from a 110 watt Sony receiver (STRV333 ES) to a 200 watt amp (Adcom 5500) and a good preamp (Yamaha CX-1). I mean, it was a night and day difference. I still like my SDA CRS+'s better, but with better amplification, the RT55i's are running a not too distant second. It will be interesting to see if using better binding posts, and higher grade capacitors and resistors in the crossover will close the gap a little more. I might also switch out that chintzy little iron core inductor.
I'll let you know how it works out.

I wish that i could understand what you are saying so that i too could improove my sound experience. What kind of bindings post would you install on your 55's ?
What is an inductor ?
Could i also do this with my CS400i, RT2000i's and F/X 1000i's ?
I was also wondering if changing the binding posts on my denon 3802 would be a good investment ?RT2000i
