HAHA! I did that in college- the best part was when someone was taking too long we'd crank the worst music we could find 'til they took the hint.

hmmm... Anyhow, monster isn't popular around here, but search ebay for speaker selectors and it'll give you an idea of the manufacturers that make them. Niles & Adcom do for sure.

Niles Makes good quality speaker selector boxes as well as Pro Solutions. Yes you can add a speaker selector box o your system if you have a B channel or a multiroom receiver.

If your receiver is Multiroom , You run a 4 conductor 14-4 from the Zone 2 speaker binding posts to the Amp IN on the speaker selector box.

Do the same if your reciver only has a B channel. The B channel kinda stinks as the main room has to share the same Max volume as the onther rooms. When you use the Multiroom or zone 2 , your max volume can be different.

Also buy inwall volume controls. This will allow you to adjust the volume in each room you add speakers in. You set the max volume at the head end.

Niles SPS4 will allow up to 4 pairs of speakers off 1 amp.
Pro solutions SPX4 will do the same.

Actually if you go with the volume controls, you can get them with impedence matching- you lose a little power, but you can hook them all up in parallel and still show the amp a 8 ohm load- Not exactly audiophile, but it they work well for whole-house systems.
