Regardless of what settings/connections are (sub out or frt speaker direct to sub) or x-over settings on my receiver for fronts (60 or 90), I constantly can hear muffled/vibration sounds thru subwoofer (as if picking up voices/sounds from center channel) ..when bass "kicks" in, it sounds fine other than slight vibration ....this sound is not heard when I'm in my normal listening position (though compared to other subs, never noticed this sound). This noise also heard regardless of sub volume (never turn it up past 12 o'clock).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    revo280,
Are you using a good quality double shielded audio cable to the sub? Also, just for **** and grins, try plugging the sub into a different wall outlet.

Tried all that and didn't work. Finally, did opposite of directions and connected from sub-out on receiver to "filtered" jacks on back of sub (not lfe jack). Set receiver x-over to 60 and speaker size to "small" for front speakers as well as 60 for low-pass on sub....now, no more "chatter" heard from center/front speakers thru subwoofer.. Maybe my receiver isn't filtered for sub-out? (Sony DTR-SE945)...either way, great improvement noticed :-)
