Sigh...... again, car audio just isn't that much fun anymore. It's all about who has the biggest woofers. Now if I was to do another car audio setup, I'd probably do the Focal K2P 11" sub. SQ... the only way to go.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

I forgot to mention that you are right about one thing, the $165 is employee cost and dealer cost is slightly under $300. My friend works for a store than sells JL. Its funny, he gets accomadations on everything but runs maxx hifi mid ranges(well, vifa now, maxx hifi in the future) and tweeters, and RE **** mid basses, and RE **** subs...the only thing JL in his car are the amps...and hes switching to usamps.
The reason why the Brahma is so much cheaper is not so much because it has direct sales(but after talking to the owner of adire about it, it does drop the price, i forgot the perent he told me, but it wasnt that big of a difference). In fact, its actually because of something you previously stated
"only uses 4 screws that are not manufactured in house."
    Thats why.
What's great about the Brahma and XBL^2 technology is that it uses conventional stuff, just in a different way. Now some may think well if they build it themselves then it should be cheaper. Not the case. Almost everything thats in a W7 is custom. This costs more money than if you bought just the standard looking baskets that have been used for years.
Like I said, thats what great about the new motor technology. The W7 had a lot of work and engineering that went into it that called for a lot of custom parts, Adire had the ingenuity to take common, inexpensive parts and make a bad **** sub out of them, therefore, making it cheaper in the end;)
You should really try to hear a brahma sometime. It really sounds great, and it'll sound the same from 1-28mm of excursion

Yeah Sid, cause none of the home audio guys ever fight. :p
Hell this was worth it just to learn Im not the only person that likes JL.

Me and Cody actually came to a gentlemans agreement about the whole issue a while back. We both agree that JL Audio is very good stuff but you can get better for the money. I think this is something we can all agree on. :)

    ROFL...that's about right, too! lol

I've sorta hit a plateau with my audio equipment. I can't realistically want better stuff since I can't find any fault with what I have. Then for about 2 or 3 weeks I was posting on a computer forum, asking questions so I could build my first computer. Then I went biking with a friend from church, and I think I could get interested in that. And since my bike is too small, my computer money (that I didn't have! :p ) might be going toward a new bike. All the while I've been trying to play badminton, too; the only sport I've ever loved.

    LOL, so that's my saga.
