Obviously a good suggestion above, here is another that a fellow Polkie found recently:

    www.cobaltcable.com

Made in the USA, and available in bulk.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

over-priced. performance isn't all that bad, and they're worth it if you can find for really cheap, but you can do so much better for your money...

    Ok...let me ask this.
    wich would you go with

My question is... the wire is not THX certified (cobalt). Not that it means a bunch of ditty too me....but say- 5yrs down the line I have to sell the house. Do you think being able to say that the in-wall speaker wires are THX certified would mean anything.

Locally...I can get the THX certified Monster 14g in wall for .55/ft.

    decisions...decisions??

I dont mind paying the 1.09...thats not the issue...I'm just wondering quality wise...and maybe re-sale wise?

About 90% of the buyers out there are going to **** about the wires sticking out of the walls and want you to patch all those holes up... so I wouldn't worry about whether or not they say THX on them.

The other thing is, those cables probably exceede THX specs- Cobalt just doesn't want to pay George Lucas way too much money to use his stupid logo.

    I agree.

You can't THX certify a wire, that's just marketing. Don't feed the machine.

    From the THX wesite:

****************************************************The criteria by which THX certifies cables include:

Audio cable electrical specifications for insertion loss and bandwidth to minimize frequency response deviations and signal losses, given a usage length.

A widely recognized color coding standard for easy channel recognition and simplified polarization.

Jacket printing of vital information to indicate polarity, grounding location and usage length limits.

Mechanical specifications for connection integrity insuring cabling’s longevity and reliability.

Video cable electrical specifications for insertion loss and bandwidth to preserve color purity and picture detail and stability.
    ****************************************************

So basically a well-labeled lamp cord could feasibly be certified THX. Put in your cobalt cables and just tell the buyers that they're THX. You'll be happy and they'll be happy.

I wouldn't worry about that. You would be buying a quality cable with less signal loss than Monster's stuff. Go quality and don't look back.

I actually just received all my cables today and all I can say is WOW! Definitely amazing cables. VERY well built. I got ballsy and started yanking on connectors to see how well they're put together (do that to a monster and see what happens). I'm extremely impressed. Now I just gotta get all my equipment here so I can use them. haha
