Magnolia Hi-Fi to close here

Yeah, another audio store goes out of business. It's the final week before Magnolia closes it's only store here. I'd venture in there a couple times a year to check out some gear. Never could afford anything other than some on sale interconnets there.
But it's sad anyways to see that high end audio doesn't have the support to keep a store open like that. I guess the CC and BB of the world are what people are willing to settle for these days.
That only leaves one hi fi store here (OneCall.com).. with limited selection. No Polk Audio.
How awesome it would be if OneCall.com was a authourized online retailer for Polk.

Magnolia HiFi is owned by Best Buy. My local Best Buy has recently renovated a portion of its retail space and installed a Magnolia HiFi inside.
Maybe it's a good time to check for sale prices. -
Kinda weird considering Magnolia Hi-Fi is owned by BB.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.
Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -
A Mag Hi Fi IN a BB? What joke.
Danger, any sales at the Spokane store? -
they're not going to put a magnolia in a BB, it's just owned by them.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

It's no joke.
And I'm actually surprised by the number of people in the Magnolia section of the Best Buy. -

Yes they are. Several in California already, from what I understand. -
Guys the market is in a real weird place. Alot is going on and it's a shame for the little guys.
Big companies are buying up everything for absloute power in the market. Soon it will be ruled by chain stores and mom and pop stores will not exsist.
Around here we alreay lost Soundex which is where I used to work. They where extreme high end and did well at it. I was kinda sad to see them close the doors.
BB is is making some agressive moves , don't be shocked to see them carry better gear.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
FS is correct, I've been to several of those inside BB. They carry less brands compared to their standalone store, but of course they can get you one from the other stores.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I'm not sure.. but one would think they would have a clearance sale going on. I'll prob go tonight and check.
As far as Magnolia going into BB. It DOES make sense. WHy have two brick and morter stores when you can have one store the appeals to both the middle/low end market and then your higher end stuff will also attract some people as well.
If some dude walks into BB and was ready to plunk down $400 for a receiver.. but then the sales guy shows him say a Denon for $1,000. and how good it sounds.. well simple math would tell ya.. you have to sell only 1/2 as many receivers at $1,000 then you do at $400.
It's a smart business move by Best Buy. I think even CC is feeling the pinch with how well BB is doing.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Circuit City just received an offer for the purchase of the chain.
