In which area is your system lacking?

As good as our systems are, I'm sure there are areas we'd like to improve or that we think is lacking a little.

I'm completely satisfied with my system but one area that haven't gotten much attention is the subwoofer. I've done the "place the sub on seating area and crawl around" thing but haven't tweaked it enough. I found the spot where it produces the most bass but haven't played around enough. Also, I've been doing x-over settings by ear so I'm sure there could be a gap or a little too much emphasis somewhere. But I'm happy with the sound and don't feel the need to go out and buy an spl meter yet.

So which part of your system would you like to improve?

My system is lacking a good room.

I need a dedicated room for my 2Ch listening where I can setup my system without considering WAF and be able to listen to what I want, whenever I want and as loud as I want.

Yep, only thing I feel my system needs is a room...

    Completely satisfied I are

Damn, forgot about the room. The room could also be improved for my rig. I'm using the long wall, so there are a lot of open space to the left and right of the room and a big opening on the right side which leads to the hallway and stairs. If I could close it up a bit, I'm sure I can get more impact.

    Room, rack and isolation. :)

Last week I tore down a wall in my basement and I'm going to build an HT room down there.

I'm totally content with my system for now. Dialed in my sub by ear and it sounds fanastic IMO, so I'm not gonna fool around with it anymore (unless I find a new badass driver to swap out). Of course most of us would love a new acoustically optimized, non-WAF listening room, but that ain't gonna happen.

I'd like to test out different bookshelf speakers, but the Norhs will stay. I may also decide to roll the tubes someday.

****! Forgot another one. If you haven't tried this, you might be surprised.

If you don't have a dedicated 2ch room, try covering your entire TV with a THICK blanket. You'll be surprised by the result. So getting your TV away from between the speakers will give you better sound.

It would be nice if everytime I opened up the drawer to the cd player there was a $50 bill sticking out of it. I would also be pleased if either my AR-9's or the Amazings looked a lot like Jenny McCarthy, but still sounded as good as they do.

Okay, seriously. My system could use a 20 year old pair of ears instead of these trashed 52's.

Probably either the source or the speakers. Not sure which is more important. Anybody know? :D

Lacking a property I own so I can have a dedicated home theater.

Need a better DVD player too. Its not bad... but then again, its not all that great.

Also need to hook up DirecTV along with OTA HD equipment.

And oh yea... need either a large widescreen TV or good projector.

I'd love to upgrade my speakers, I'm very satisified with everything, but speaker upgrades are always on my mind. I just want to make sure I'll be moving "up" and not "sideways" so I'm doing alot of research. I'll probably need to get into the $1500-$2000/pr range to get a significant improvement over my current speakers...

My Onkyo 601 for sure. I need more watts per channel or go to a good pre-amp with some outlaws to push my speakers. Also, on down the line an SVS to top it off. I like my PSW505. It is not the best, but it is definetly not the worst either.

My system is lacking a few things.

    1) a great subwoofer. I planned on trying out the Polk LsiW woofer last year but it's no where to be found. We got them and then they where recalled and I haven't seen any replacements yeat.
I don't like the Velodynes as much as Rel so I don't want one of them. I plan on buying a sub before summer.

    2) An upgrade. The B&K has been in my system for quite some time now and I feel the need to get it out. I plan on posting it in the Flea Market soon. I have seperates in site.

    3) Speakers. I have owned the Lsi series for a few years now and I'm longing for my love. Dynaudio Audience series is going to be my next speaker package.

    4) Building my basement. We have put it off due to many tihings that got in the way of it. First off I had to buy another car as My work truck now stays at a hub instead of my house so I needed a car to drive to work last year. I saved money for the basement for 3 years and had to spend it on a car as I didn't want a car payment. The basment was my dream since I started building the house and everything got in the way of it. I hate it but the family has to come first.

    5) working off # 4 , screen and projector. This won't happen untill I build the room for it. I have 2 much sunlight in my livingroom and 2 high of ceiling for it so I have to wait for this upgrade.

Honestly the system is fine for now. I like the way I built it and it perfroms exactly to my expetations. But I long to upgrade so I gotta move forward.

Oh, by the way, as far as where my systems are lacking.... I'm pretty happy with my rigs as they are right now. Its taken me over 2 years to put them together. Biggest weakness has got to be room placement that is compatible with ergonomic and asthetic room layout. I mean I have speakers that have weak sounding bass in one room and sound totally different in another room. A kitchen rig I even have now.... and its pretty nice when I'm cooking gumbo:D
