I "dislike" the business practices of a certain mysterious company ("Company X") and thought this would be a good idea to start a thread listing other High (and often higher) quality alternatives to the products that "Company X" makes.

POWER SUPPLY OPTION
I know several have mentioned different manufacturers of cables, but I was in Fry's earlier today and ran across something that caught my eye.
THIS is made by Belkin, and has a VERY sharp look to it. The facia is made of plastic which I'm not so much a fan of, but the overall function of the units is really what's important. The one that I saw and really liked was the PF-40. The only thing that I wasn't sure about was the size of the display in the center. In a dark room watching a movie, it could be a bit distracting to have a solid blue screen (it can be dimmed) looking at you.

So basically, that's the jist of the thread. Give us some alternatives on items that "Company X" makes so that everyone can get some better options and do some research with.

We just went through this. And don't say you're not bashing Monster, your bashing their "ethics". It's the same thing. Why don't you rename the thread "High Quality Interconnects" or something of that nature and leave Monster out of it.

Brett - Just take out this Monster reference....

"Everyone by now knows about the lacking business ethics Monster utilizes, so I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread listing very viable (and often better quality) alternatives to some of their products."

....and the thread is just fine. Noone says we are obligated to mention them, and the thread header is in-line with the rules.

For those that wouldn't know what some of the companies are, how about putting something by the names of the companies that list what they have to offer......

These guys carry everything that mysterious company does and some things that they don't and they do it for less than half the price in most cases. Better quality product overall too.

I have been using some of the KnuKonceptz products and so far I can highly recommend them.

For AC power related products, don't forget about Tripp Lite. I have been using their LCR-2400 and it is pretty incredible. I also use the Isobar Ultra units.

We use Tripp Lite stuff on some of the radar systems here at work in addition to many of the server rooms. If it's capable enough to handle that stuff, it'll be overkill for your home audio needs.

I highly recommend the PS Audio UPC-200, totally passive, high current with dual zones. Great for keeping the power and source separate.

for speaker wire, ive never seen better than Stinger Pro Series
    http://www.cardomain.com/item/STISSW12BLK2
i havent used knukonceptz speaker wire, but i am VERY pleased with stingers and its cheaper than knukonceptz
for power wire, i def. like knukonceptz. all the 1/0 power wire in my truck is knukonceptz and i havent found anything cheaper. it has an extremely high strand count which maximizes flexibility. for being as thick as a small garden hose, it has really good flexibility.
by the end of the year when ill be running 3600 watts continous in the truck, the power wire will be knukonceptz.
for rca's, i personally use Street Wires.

    Cool, Dan!

Let us know, I am curious, since I am looking at the ultimate outlet and PS300, but have been reading review about the fan issue on the PS300. What are you replacing?

    polkatese,
I sold the Hts5000 which I used over 2 years ago. I picked up a HTS 2600 to use in the livingroom and I planned on building the theater. Well that project is still on hold so I decided to start upgrading anyway. Basically I will remove the HTS2600 and Install the 3.5 Director.
