Have one question for you guys: Does it matter if a sub is magnetically shielded or not. Thanks.

Subs have a bigger magnet and it can interfere w/ your TV. Its best if it is shielded if it's goign to be close to your TV

The couple of times I moved an SVS PB2-ISD around in front of my RPTV, it knocked the convergence way out of whack and I had to reset it. The magnetic effect of a subwoofer driver can cause convergence drifting on an RPTV. It's not nearly as bad as the picture distortion problem caused by unshielded speakers and standard CRT or plasma TV pictures. So yes, I'd say it is best to keep some distance between, probably 2-4 feet from the lens mechanisms in the RPTV being plenty for an unshielded subwoofer driver depending on the size of the subwoofer.

Thanks for the info. I will try to find a place for this sub and if not possible, I guess I will just have to get a shielded one. Can you tell me if the subwoofer in the RTi10 would be good enough?
