Seems like a lot of love out there for denon, hk, marantz and onkyo. What do you guys think of the Pioneer receivers. I'm thinking about upgrading from my onkyo 502. Thanks for the help

I tried the Pioneer VSX1014 and wasn't that impressed with it, a lot of people really like them alot, I almost think mine was faulty. Anyways I tested a yamaha HTR5760, and the HTR5790, They all have their good points but none of them sounded good playing both Music and Home theater use. So I ended up getting a Harman Kardon AVR335, and I love it, good build quality and exellent sound. You can't go wrong with one of the HK receivers.
After reading your equipment list I see it is similar to mine as far as speakers go The HK sounds great with the RTi 8's.Arcam DiVa AVR300 Receiver

Pioneer Elite reeivers are every bit as good as Denon. They sound almost the same. With the kind of speakers your using , I would encourage you to give them a try.
I also used Pioneer Elite receivers years ago when I had Polk Rt series speakers and I actually perferred it over the Denon I replaced it with back then,

I was considering the vsx1014 as it seems to have had good reviews and was reasonably price. I had bought an hk 525 in hopes of a great receiver, unfortunately the receiver was defective and didnt' work. (caused a low volume his and crackle in the speakers at all volume levels). I like my onkyo and was also thinking of upgrading to txnr 801. Which receiver do you guys like better and why? ThanksI LOVE MY WIFE!!!

The PE VSX-41 can be had cheap on the bay...
EXCELLENT preamp section, leaves room for upgrading!
The amp section is decent too... great features...
NOT the best build quality ever though...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
