Power Cord ??

A couple of questions...
Regarding the length of the cable. I have been looking at power cables on a number of different sites and one thing that stands out is that most if not all of them start out at the 2' to 3' range. How true to form is this? Meaning, out of the may that have bought power cords, how many had to get them longer? It would seem that this length is a bit short, unless I had some sort of power strip/line conditioner or something near my equipment (which I do not). Wouldn't a length of maybe four to five feet seem more reasonable?

In my system I use a 4 foot PK10 by Kimber Kable and a 5 foot Pk10. I buy the length I need for the given source. If I still had my Bello Rack , I could have used a 3 foot pk10 for my receiver as It lived one shelf up from my power center.
You buy the length you need not what they have posted. If you need custom lengths most power cord companies have all different lengths and can make you what you want. I see no problem here.

Sorry, maybe I stated the question wrong. I was just wondering out of the many people that have bought power cords, how many of you went longer than the 3' range?SYSTEM

I also buy mine, only as long as is needed, if possible. That's across the board for interconnects for me, as I like to have short runs.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
