The drivers aren't 7.5", they're 7".......the only speaker that was using the 7.5 drivers was the RT16's and maybe another out of that series.comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

So Brett,
Any reason for the lower RTi150's response? The fact that RTi12's have a higher regard, they also seem easier to drive. Is it a look or sound thing.

When I heard the 150's I thought that the bass was too boomy. Granted I didn't do a relaly detailed demo of them, but when a speaker starts off as bad from the beginning, I don't necessarily want to work it up to "not so bad"........
I DEFINITLEY prefer the look of the 12's over the 150's though, flat out.comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

The RTi150s are floor ported, the RTi12s are front/rear ported. The RTi12s were easier to place in a room closer to walls than the RTi150s without becoming boomy. I also think the RTi150 drivers may have had higher excursion levels than the drivers on the RTi12s. It's hard to tell how each speaker in internally braced and how much space the top unit and ports take up in order to tell which speaker has more usable internal cabinet volume, but it appears the RTi12 is slightly more just because the cabinet is so deep.
Although the RTi150s go lower on paper within the -3dB range, I also perceived the bass on the RTi12s to be tighter and better controlled and just as deep.
If I could have had an RTi with the old tweeter and single midrange driver from the RTi150 and the subwoofer section and much superior laminate and build qualtity of the RTi12 I would have been happier with the RT series speakers. -
I just recently got to listen to the RTi8, RTi6 and the TRsomething-or-other (arent they supposed to be the Euro version of the Monitor 50?) at Tweeter.
Personally I thought the RTi8 was awesome and blew away everything they had in that room (it was the $1000 and below room).
The RTi6 was very good but the 8 had more midbass and sounded fuller to me.
Id heard the Monitors several times at Circuit City but this was the first time I heard thr RTi's and personally I thought they effin rocked!
Which sucks cause now I have to have the $700 RTi's when I had planned on getting the $400 M50's. You know how long its going to take me to save up an extra $300?polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
