Entirely different speaker on tubes. Very lush and balanced.

You guys that have Monitor series NEED to hear them on tubes. I've got these (T90e's) on an 8 watt, push pull amp, and it's suprising me.

Cheers,
Russ

Not surprised by your findings at all. I heard the same thing with my RT800i. Like you said, very different speakers on tubes. To this day, I regret selling the 800i's. I'd take the 800i on tubes over my LSi9 any day.

BTW, are those EL84 output tubes? Are they running in triode? I thought EL84 running in push/pull can put out around 17w/ch. That's an incredible looking set up. A nice small amp to compliment the small Radii. The new line from Polk looks very nice too.

6BM8, push pull. The 6BM8's are like a 6BQ5/EL84, but with half of a 12ax7 on top (notice no separate driver tubes on the front end).

The amp is Radii also, and is essentially two of the ASL Wave-8 monos, on a single chassis.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Thanks for sharing the pics. That's one sexy amp! Very interesting tube too. I wonder if Radii and ASL are built in the same factory?
