I like what I see. Maybe not quite enough to warrent a trek to the theater but a must buy DVD. At least The Thing looks real and they did not CGI him like they did with the Hulk.

I've heard nothing good about it, might want to rent. -
I'll be picking this up today, looks like a fun family friendly film.If...

It's worth the $13.99. You HT guys should love it, if just for a demo dvd."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -
I'll be buying this in hours or less.

I had such high hopes for it and absolutely didn't like it. It's the most boring action movie you will ever see. THere's like 3 good scenes, and two of them are just because Jessica Alba is in them.If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Really? What's the rest of the movie about if there is so little action?If...

A lot of in-fighting in the group, way too much background and side-line love story. They don't even get superpowers until about a third of the way through the movie. And there is only ONE SCENE - repeat ONE SCENE where they all combine to use their powers to fight a foe. And that scene is maybe 6 minutes long.
I just think so much could have been done with this - and may be in the inevitable sequels, at least I hope - but this one just fell flat. Some poeple may like it, I would just advise against a blind buy.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Just watched it. Lousy movie. Slow, boring, little action. SQ mediocre. Bad story. Not recommended.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
"God grooves with tubes." -
I experienced the opposite, watched it last night and had a great time. I thought the SQ was great; deep tight bass, great surround sound separation and a solid front stage. PQ was also very clean and detailed with little EE.
The story was simple as is most every Comic Book movie out todate. I loved the entire first half where they all discover there powers and thought that and the bridge sequence was better then the final battle.
Very enjoyable film.If...

Exactly.
I liked it as well. The thing was great. Alba is Alba and no matter what she is doing, she is great. I felt all they all played there roles correclty. Good choice of actors.
I will watch it again. It really sets it up for Fantastic 4 Number 2.

I enjoyed it a lot more at home, than when I saw it in the theater. The theater I saw it had the worst sound I've ever experienced in a cinema, which detracted from the movie.
PQ and DTS-SQ where worlds better and home, and while it's not a great movie, it was still enjoyable.
If there is a F4-2, I'll check it out, but my expectations will be a lot higher.Main theater: Paradigm Studio 100's v4 L/R, CC690 Center, ADP 590 x4 Surrounds. Dual Outlaw LFM-EX-1's, Yamaha Aventage RX-A1010 as Processor, Anthem PVA-7 Amp
Secondary System: Polk RTi 6 L/R, CSi3, Center, FXi3 x4 Surrounds, Def-Tech Supercube II, Pioneer Elite VSX-23 Receiver -
It was ok ... slower than expected , but mainly due to alot of character building in this one . Ending definitely leads to F4-2 , which "should" (and hopefully) incorporate alot of action in the sequel . DTS was a plus .SDA-2B's ~ Pair SDA-CRS's ~ ,*** Main listening: Maggies MG1 ~ Polk SDA 2B's ~ Monitor 10's , 3-pairs (2 pairs moded into SDA's w/SDA-2B/CRS cross-overs) , * DCM TF600's * Mission M71/M72 *** Main brdrm FRT: RTiA-5's /Presence RTi-4 / LSI-704 Cntr / Rear FXI3's ~~~ Assorted Main listening rm : , 2- Heathkit W-5M /tube mono blocks (Parasound P/HP-850)* * 2- Altec Lansing 1590b's/mono blocks (Yamaha C-45) * CM Labs 35D * Dynaco ST-70 ~ Occasionally ~* Yamaha CR-820/A-760 ,* Sansui AU-317/AU-217 * Carver 900 rec *2-Dynaco ST 120* 1 Hafler DH-220* Marantz 1040 ... more
