I'm actually not even really wanting the Hemi. It's fine, but the 6 has plenty of power for what I need/want. I'm going to look at the Limited because the onboard computer setup is pretty sweet. I did drive a 300C for a rental and the thing was nice, but there were a lot of things that I wouldn't be ok with and would have to upgrade and I'm not wanting to drop 35-38k into the car.

Ack.......I'm driving a.........Taurus. (it'll be exchanged first thing Monday morning at the first person to offer up something along the lines of a Yugo or better...lol)

Laying in bed felt great......moving around, not so much.

I'm gonna go to a NextCare or somethin like that. I'm not going to an ER to donate half my day to.....eff that.

Here are some better pictures than the grainy/blurry first one from last night. The car has been dropped off at the Body Shop and really they can't do a full estimate until they can open up the trunk which is lodged shut. Hopefully we'll be getting the insurance adjusters out to look at it on Monday or Tuesday (depending on if they're working on the MLK holiday).

EDIT: Screwed up the pic and ended up deleting it on accident......movin on.

    Last.....

It doesn't appear that the lid scratched the rear window, but I'll be checking it pretty damn closely when it gets done. Can't see underneath it right now.

interesting how the rear stop light lenses didn't break. they must be made out of Titanium or something. Don't know why i picked up on that. just did.

That is kinda odd now that you mention it, especially since it was a full sized Suburban.

All the lights are all going to have to be replaced.....the outside corner lenses had the mounting posts snapped off, the right deck lid light is cracked/broken near the license plate, and the left one I'm sure is going to have damaged posts to it as well. We'll see......

...how low the damage is, I would think a suburban would have made most of its contact above the bumper line.
Was it a 2 wheel drive sub.?

Not if it was nose-diving, trying to stop. Which is also why the dents look pushed up too. When forward momentum was arrested, the suspesion decompressed and rose back to normal ride height. That is what shoved the trunk lid and such up. Otherwise, it would just have been pushed in and crumpled.

Stopped by the body shop today and took a few pics. Right now, they have the number at $6084.35 and that involves cutting and welding in a rear left frame rail from the center wheel hub back, a new trunk tray/lining, trunk lid, bumper, rear left quarter panel and a bunch of other stuff.......

Here's the back shot minus bumper: (that big gaping hole is the trunk bed that was ripped open)

    Jstas explained that one.......

With the velocity that she was breaking, she was in a nosedive and it wasn't until she really hit me that he front end actually raised up enough to come in contact with the lamps. They are allgoing to have to be replaced (if they try to fix it) because the mounts on the back are all snapped off.......

Oh, that is just a little sheet metal damage. A real car would have had a small dent in the bumper. I had an S-10 a few years ago that got rear ended about 6 times in one year. I was starting to get a complex about my driving skills. The last time it happened I was at a stop light. A car pulled up behind. 30 seconds later some guy ramed into the guy behind me and pushed him into me. I had a big brand new air compressor in the back. Why? To fix the damage from getting hit the week before. Get checked out. You never know if there will be future problems.

a real car? so his accord isn't a real car? or am i not understanding you?

i thought cars were supposed to crumple like that to absorb impact and cause lesser injuries. if i ever get into a major auto accident i would much rather have my car go the the repair shop than me go to the hospital.

Well said, how true Cars crumple absorbing the energy impact from an incident vs. my back or neck how nice. Just think about the whole picture.
