The playoffs start today - too bad I'll be at work! But I'm sure much of St. Louis will be watching the game so hopefully that means I can watch too (no customers ;)). I actually feel pretty good about the Rams' chances today....just need to keep Shaun Alexander under control and don't be dumb with the football.

I think tonight's Jets-Chargers game will be very entertaining, with two of the best running backs in the league squaring off. I like Herman Edwards as a coach a lot, but I think the stadium in San Diego will be rocking, helping the Chargers to a win.

Not too much to say on the Broncos-Colts game....the Broncos pass defense sucks, and you don't really want to be playing Indy with sucky pass defense.

and then tomorrow afternoon, we have the Packers hosting the Vikings, their first ever playoff meeting. I don't particularly like either team. But if GB wins, they play Atlanta and Rams would get Philly. Believe it or not, the Falcons scare me more than the Eagles right now, so that's the matchup I like. So go GB!

    Go Packers.....

I'll tell you what. If the Iggles lose and The Pack beats MN, I feel they can make it all the way, and then lose. :)

Late Friday afternoon I was given tickets to the Packers-Vikings playoff game in Green Bay! I'll be heading up early Sunday morning! I was just starting to check weather and decide how many layers of clothing I need! I love it when overpaid athletes have to battle it out in an open stadium in WI in January! I was born and raised a Packers fan, so this is going to be a real treat!

Man, have fun. You might be witnessing Brett Favres last game at Lambeau field. There's a chance there could be another one and also a chance he could come back next year (which I think he will).

There is NOTHING like seeing a game at Lambeau. The history alone is completely unrivaled in the rest of the NFL. Nothing like it, and going in January is the best.

TIP: Get a motel or go out to dinner after the game. Trying to go down 43 after a game is a real ****....if you're in Chicagoland you're probably not going to be home until like 1 or 2 in the morning.

Woooooo! Rams win! :D Got to see a decent amount of it at work. The last couple of minutes were tense!

The Jets-Chargers game was excellent, but I was disappointed the the Chargers lost after that bonehead Jets' linebacker gave the a 2nd chance. Unfortunately the Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding (a former Hawkeye) is the goat with the miss in overtime.

Assuming the Colts win (sorry Frank! ;)), that will put the Jets at Pittsburgh ext weekend - what a slugfest that will be! And then the Colts once again would try to win at New England.

In the NFC, we'll have to wait for the Pack and Vikes game to see who the Rams get to play next weekend.

No predictions from me as far as the Broncos are concerned. It's been a weird season as it is, and we're playing the Colts again in the first round. Last year we got spanked by the Colts, but I'm really hopefull that we don't see a repeat of that mess. My parents and youngest brother are coming over to watch the game today, kinda invited themselves and are also bringing....FOOD!!!!

Only saw a few minutes of the Jets vs. Chargers while me and the kids put a lift on the wifes Cherokee yesterday. I can't stand Snott-in-hiemer so I'm a happy guy! Sorry Charger fans, no disrespect intended but my hatred for that A$$HAT does WAAAAY back. I did catch the OT and I know why the kicker from SD shanked it to the right. Thats the direction I was leaning in my seat while screaming "Miss it wide-right you rookie scum!!"

    BTW,
How's the weather supposed to be in Pittsburgh next Saturday?;)

I'm going for the Colts in this one. I think Peyton has something to prove and the offence is too potent for the Broncos defence. I think it will be a high scoring game. Unfortunately I have to miss this one.

I really wanted the Chargers to win last night. I like the Drew Brees story, it will be interesting to see what happens in the off season.

The games yesterday were hella fun to watch, especially the Jets-Chargers game. I'm glad that Pennington performed well, kind of a big F-U to the NY media. Maybe they'll get off his **** now.

Kind of a semi-choke on the part of San Diego, given all they hype leading into the game.

The Rams-Seahawks game, while extremely competitive, was a bit of a "Who cares?" game for me, since I couldn't see either team going far. Neither team was impressive down the stretch of the regular season.

As far as my team, the Eagles, I don't have as high hopes as I did before Owens was injured. For the first time in several years I thought the team was firing on all cylinders, and then someone let all the air out of the balloon. Yeah, I realize that they didn't play their starters the last 2 games of the season since everything had already been locked up, but from a mental standpoint I don't have much optimism in who is going to show up to play next weekend. :( Especially if Todd Stinkston is afwaid to take a widdle hit evewy now and then. Grrrr.....

No matter who comes out of the NFC, I think the AFC will eat them alive and spit out the carcass...

Personal fave: I'd like to see Indy go to the superbowl... playing on the road at either Pitt or New England will be TOUGH though.

Unfortunately the Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding (a former Hawkeye) is the goat with the miss in overtime.

Actually the goat in most San Diegans minds is that dumbass Schottemheimer and his conservative play calling in that overtime. No wonder he's lost so many playoff games. You get to the 20 yard line and then just sit on the ball, leaving it up to a rookie to kick a 40 yarder in the slop and rain in the most pressure filled moment of his life. Not to mention his 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for coming on to the field to argue a call that help setup the Jets tying touchdown going into halftime. This guys an freakin' idiot.

Broncos lost, but I'm not sure who the team was that showed up for the first half. I've had it with Jake Plumber, he's got to be the most inconsistent player in the whole league. Can you believe he's already been re-signed by the Broncos?!? I don't see us doing any better next year either.

Props to the Colts for playing a nearly flawless game. They certainly prepared for, and actually showed up to not only play but to win...in a big way. Congrats Colts fans!!

Marty really should have had tried for the FG on 3rd down. I thought it was a poor call trying to get one more yard and sacrificing an attempt in the process.

I can't say that the Indy-Denver game surprised me. But I really didn't expect Green Bay to tank like they did. That was just an ugly offensive performance from the Pack!

So here's your matchups for next weekend, kids!

New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers, Saturday 4:30EST

St. Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons, Saturday 8:00

Minnesota Vikings at Philly Eagles, Sunday 1:00

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots, Sunday 4:30

Gotta cheer for the Rams and Vikings to win, so the Rams can be the first #5 seed to host the NFC Championship! :D

Me too. This Colts team is better than last year. Should be a good one.

What was Favre thinking when he threw that lateral like three yards in front of scrimage? Ugly game.

The problem was that it wasn't a lateral! ;)

I tend to think the Colts will win next weekend too. The Patriots just seem vulnerable, too thin defensively. They are probably better offensively this year, with the addition of Corey Dillion, but the Colts defense is better this year too. Freeney has been a beast. Edgerrin James is just about back to his old self too.

I would imagine the Steelers will crush the Jets.

In the Eagles-Vikings game, it's a tough one to call. The Eagles just don't seem like the same to team without Owens. I know McNabb is still a stud at QB, but I just don't know. The Eagles secondary is talented too, but Culpepper has been really good this year. I guess I see the Vikes pulling out a close one, maybe 17-14.

And finally the Rams-Falcons....both teams are so up and down, it's hard to predict. Will it be the Rams that turn the ball over every other series? Will Mike Vick be the electric runner or the guy that makes stupid mistakes? The Falcons just seem to be the more consistent, funamentally sound team. Either team could win, but if I had money on it, I'd pick the Falcons.

Oops!. Meant forward lateral of course.:D

Yeah the Eagles Vikes game should be a good one too. The Vikings looked impressive yesterday and Owens was such a big part of the Eagles offence.

Randy Moss did WAAAAY more than that. He's a total ****.

We lost the game though, so I'm the last person who should be commenting on Moss because I'm partial, but the radio stations are tearing his sorry lazy pot smoking **** out.

Did you think what he yelled to the crowd after he did it "Look at the mother effin' score board," was clasless? Or "I don't give a **** blah blah blah **** blah blah blah..." When talking to reporters? Or leaving the field of play before the game is over.

Face it. The guy is a wasted talent and a classless punk. I am just sick of this kind of crap all around. Not just from Moss. This is the kind of crap that sparks the meles like the one with Ron Artest.

I think anyone who saw the Jimmy Johnson interview with Moss would agree the guys a total punk.

I was talking strictly about the mooning incident. That wasn't so bad. I didn't pay any attention to what happened after the game, or what he told the crowd.

The league is full of overpaid babies who can play but have no brains. Moss is one of them, no doubt. But he is the best in the NFL. If they mandated an IQ limit to play in the NFL (or NBA, NHL, MLB) we'd be looking at a totally different ball game.

If they mandated an IQ limit to go and watch the games, we'd see a totally different crowd in the stands too.

I think you'd have to be a fool to not agree with that. He's an arrogant rich little ****.

The thing is, no one's complaining about what he yelled. All you hear is he made a "classless act" by mooning the crowd. Agreed, it's classless, but

    a) do we expect any less from this ****?
    b) he'll be fined a ridiculous sum of money
    c) it seems like this is just another "wardrobe malfunction", where everyone's extermely overreacting to a BARELY offensive gesture. I WISH everyone was making a huge deal about him yelling obscenities in the crowd - that's a legitimate complaint and should not be tolerated. Mock pulling down his pants? Makes us all seem like a bunch of prudes for even giving it airtime.
