Does anyone have any experience or a suggestion for a center speaker to use with the SDA-1c's? Do the current line match up well with these older Polks? Thanks.

ive had a set of 2.3's,sda2b's and now sda crs and ive used them all with my cs400i and in my opinion they all worked well together.

I am also using the SDA 1C's as fronts for my home theater system. The CS 400i worked well with them, although there was a slight change in timbre as sounds moved from the center to either left or right. I am currently using a pair of SDA CRS+'s wired in parallel for center channels. They are the best match I have found for the 1C's. This is not surprising since the CRS+'s (pin/blade SDA cable version) uses the same tweeter and drivers as the SDA 1C.

Of course, unless you have a large TV, the CRS+'s aren't going to look very good and might pose a weight problem. They weigh 30 pounds each.

Check the system showcase to see how my setup looked with the CS400i. Also check out Tyrone Thompson's system, he is using CRS+'s for center and rear channels.

    Scott,

How do you like your "new" CRS's?
How do they compare to your other Polk's you've owned?

i think they detail better then the rta 15tl's and the bass responce surprized me. so much for such a little speaker.
and the sda effect is right up there with the 2.3's.

    I agree.
I had mine in the same room as the monitor 10's.
I did a lot of A/B comparison between the two.
No doubt, the CRS was superior - cleaner sound and deeper bass.

    My 3.1's are an oddity.
Sometimes, I really like the full large sound they deliver.
Other times, I prefer the smaller sound of the CRS.
I really like the monitor 10's too. Though a little loose in
the bass, the monitor 10's can deliver a wonderful rock sound
    with a very boomy bass.

Big speakers (like the 3.1's & up) aren't everything they are cracked up to be. Yes, they can really deliver a whole lot of volume... but, how much volume (SPL's) do you really need?
I think the monitor 10 and the CRS are a much more friendly home speaker than their big brothers.
