LS 70 driver replacement

I've got a "scratchy" driver in each of my LS 70s. Looking at them gave me cause to wonder if there is a special technique required for replaing these units. I've replaced many dozens of drivers/speakers and have NEVER seen anything like these, where the "cones" just appear to sort of get laid up against the front panel of the enclosure and are not an integral part of the driver frame.

Any wisdom on this would be appreciated!
