I Installed on in place of a avr307.I very good customer of mine.

His system consists of...

Klipsch Reference 7's
Klispch Inwall center
Klipsch RSW 12 sub
Klipsch Inwall rears
Klipsch Inwall surround back
Pioneer Elite 50 plasma
Sony 9000es dvd/sacd
10250 Tivo Hd Dss
Sony HD2000 DSS
Sony 555es 400 disc cd changer
B&K av1260 multiroom amp for house speakers
Monsterpower HT5000
All wires are Monstercable M1000

I ran the avr307 before I installed the 507s2. WHat I noticed was an increase in dynamic range , clearer sound , and more detail when running DVD's. I was kinda suprised in the dynamic range as they share the same amp. I don't remember learning about any improvements in the amp section( I could have been sleeping during that class who knows)
The face place is completely different kinda looking like Parasound. Upconverting video it has but I didn't get to try it out as he had all component sources.

Downside is that I found a fallout in audio when using optical digital out of the Tivo. For some reason or another , the audio was lost. He had this very same problem with the avr307 using this Dss HD receiver. Another thing I didn't like was turning on and off , it discharges and cracks loud when turning of and does somthing like that when turning on. I didin't care for that.It comes as the avr507 did with the Mx700 style remote. I perfer this remote over the Prontos.I programmed it for his system and he already had a Pronto tsu6000 in color. He liked the B&K remote better.

I haven't Installed the ref50s2 yeat along with the s2 amps , I'm hoping they don't do what the receiver does , but knowing B&K it will do the exact same thing.

I'm was considering upgrading to the s2 series seperates as my next upgrade , now I'm not so sure I want to. I'm gonna need more time with them. The damn KAPOW when turning on and off kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.

We shall see

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time.

I know this is off topic - but I dont care....

What are the improvements between the PT5 and the Reference 5 or w/e? I mean whats different other than the faceplate?
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
