Has anyone spent any time with these subs? I have read 3 stellar reviews on their supercube reference sub, and its a 16" cube with a 1800w amp. If these sound as good as the reviewers say, I am surprised their is so little chatter about them, all I hear is SVS SVS, but those things are so huge, its like buying a washer/dryer

Find a dealer, go listen to them....

I havn't heard them myself. They are based more along HT than music though. So they will probally be a tad boomy. However, the same technology is in the 7000 series towers and they arn't boomy in the least bit, so take it like it is...

No replacement for displacement. Large enclosures, big amps and big woofs, cant beat it....

I actually listened to the DT line of subs and speakers at Prime Time HT in Rockford IL. The speakers are good, but just didn't really have what I am looking for in a 2 ch. speaker, although my guess is they are great for HT. The subs were very diverse in their sound, with each of the different subs, including the supercubes having a really distinct sound of their own. They did tell me that some of the subs were up to 2 model years old and they got them from a dealer they bought out. The supercubes were very nice, pretty tight, seemed to go pretty loud, but ..... just didn't throw out the bass and air pressurization like an SVS. If you are real short on room or have a WAF issue, I would seriously look at the DT supercubes.

They didn't have too bad of a listening room, so they actually sounded pretty good. It's just a personal thing that I didn't really fall in love with the sound of them. Build and finish quality looked pretty good. I also listened to Energy and PSB at the same store, and they had more of the sound I was looking for. I think I'm hooked on getting myself some Dynaudio's though.

    They make nice subs.

Alittle hard to blend for music as they are on the punchy side.Movies there killer for action and alot of blowing up stuff.

I've read that they don't even come close to meeting their published specs. Dr Spec would be the one to ask about this though. Maybe he will see this and weigh in.

Wouldnt surprise me a bit, I know Def Tech is pretty liberal on frequency ratings lol

Not many towers with dual 5.25" can hit down to like 25hz ;) and Def Tech isnt going to be the exception! ;)
