I've just got the LSi25 from Crutchfield. No bass coming out of the speakers. Just standard hookup, amp output to LSi25 and I am not using the sub feature from these speakers. I tuned it on, auto, adjust volume, etc, no bass at all.
I connected my source to different speakers and they work fine so I know the audio source is good.
Any idea? Could the amps are dead?

Are the lights green, red, or off on the amps? Are the plates that connect the two sets of binding posts present on both speakers? Are the speakers plugged in? ;)

Yes, everything is plug in, lights are on. I turned the subwoofer's amp on, auto, off, adjust volumce, you name it, I've tried them all. It sounds the same, no bass at all.

    Thanks,

yeah, the jumpers connecting the binding posts on my lsi9's were sort of loose out of the box.

Is is possible that something in the receiver is not set properly? What receiver are you using by the way?

Not the receiver for sure since I swaped the amp out to 2 different set of speakers and they all work fine, bass and all Only when I connect it to LSi25 then I got no bass at all.
I even use different receiver to the LSi25 and same result.
I checked all LSi25 connections, all are tight, plates are connected There are not much on the LSi25 that you can miss, just the power on, off and auto and sub volume.

    Thanks,

    Hello,
I'm sorry you're having a problem with the bass section of the LSi25 speakers. Here's a fool proof way of testing the bass :
1). turn the volume down on the speaker's bass amplifier and remove any cables that are coming into the amplifier if you are feeding a line level signal to the amplifier. If you are using a speaker level feed remove these from the amplifier.
2). I'm going to assume you have a CD or DVD player as part of your system. If so, we can use this as a "test instrument" to test the speaker. Bring the CD/DVD player over to where the speaker is and run a good quality RCA cable from either the right or left analogue output, of the player, to the LFE input on the bass amplifier.
3). begin playing a CD (not a DVD) and turn the bass level up on the amplifier. Hopefully there should be plenty of bass information. Repeat the same test on the other speaker.
4). if you don't hear anything, I would contact the folks at the Crutchfield company and arrange for an exchange. They are a great company and I'm sure they can be of help.
    Regards, Ken
