No sound from Right Speaker

I just got a pair of speakers for my car and the right front one has no spund coming from it. I have played around with the fader on the radio, but all I get is a light buzzing sound. No way I blew it already! I did not install them myself, so I can't tell if the wires are in the right place or not. It looks okay when compared to the manual diagrams. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Welcome, James...
As Frank popinted out you're a bit north of the car audio experts.
Will say:
- Fader is front to rear; balance is left to right...
- Not as easy to do for cars (vs. home audio), but first troubleshooting step would be to swap speakers to eliminate or confirm that a bad one is your problem.
Good luck...More later,

Ill need a little more info but Ill give you a rundown of some of the things it could be.
If you have a passive x-over it could be wired up in reverse which would blow the tweeter pretty much on the spot and let only high pitched frequencies thru the mid. I doubt this is the problem tho.
You could have a speaker wire shorted to ground. This couldve happened if one of the wires on the way to the speaker got stripped on a screw or something.
Could have a bad RCA connection.
Could be a bad amp channel.
Try switching the speaker outputs on your amp if you have one and if the problem stays the same you know its with the speaker or speaker connection and the amp is innocent.
If you dont have an amp then just take out the speakers and switch them. If the same side has the problem then the problem lies in the wiring. If the same speaker has the problem than youve got it solved.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
