yeah, until you hit some serious bass, and the LSi9's fell off the side posts...

I wouldn't worry about the SDA drivers falling off, I'd worry that the whole thing would topple over!

ATTENTION POLK ENGINEERING
See above for a very marketable speaker design concept. -
Is this some sort of freak show in the audio circus?

No no, you see, once the music starts playing, the intense sound pressure balances the speakers into a perfect limbo, capable of levitation and movement, depending on the directors information he puts on the DVD.

The cancellation speaker weight is offset by the woofer magnet and power supply. the speakers are attached by a very lightweight/strong poly carbonate arm, the same material used in Herman/Miller Aeron chairs. http://www.hermanmiller.com/CDA/product/0,1469,c201-pss1-p8,00.html
The shear weight of the main towers and a slightly larger base also help to stabilize the design. Like the original SDA design it also contains an anti sway wall bracket for those who play loud.
This design is only a concept using current drivers and a spin off of their main design. I thought this design would produce a more discreet soundstage. Photoshop is great for playing around with Polk speaker designs. Feel free to pick it apart."The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it." -

Held together by energy binders(PM).
Think about the possibilities if they produced ozone.Make it Funky! -
Very high-endish looking. Looks like something Wilson Audio would design.
What surrounds and rears would go with these? Maybe they wouldn't need rears and surrounds. They look like they are capable of throwing a multichannel, spherical, 360 degree sound field all by themselves.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
I missed this one...but hey, maybe if you toned down the hight on your concept and made them a little more "eyeball-friendly" they would be cool. I want to see a different model...e-mail something to me.
