My dad's bose system has a bad loud hiss out of his centre cubes when he watches dvd's. I tried playing around with stuff but I am very limited as there are not may connections in the bose receiver.....

how can that lil receiver with a 6 catridge cd player have enough power or even have any power ? ( this is my 2 question)

Sorry, Bose technology is beyond our grasp... :D

First, swap out the speaker with another and see if the hiss stays in the "centre" or goes with the speaker.

If it goes, may need a new cube.

If it stays, could be the lil' Bose box has an issue.

Before calling Bose, however, try cleaning the appropriate connection, i.e., speaker terminals or RCA jacks. Sometimes a little corrosion leads to alot of hiss...

The Bose cubes are little tiny 6ohm drivers, they don't need much power.
