    Same ol same ol...

    Cheap and easy...

Grill cloth wrap around, top and bottom caps... :)

Grill cloth is much cheaper than vinyl wrap, etc - and you aint gotta do anything to prep, hides about any defect or w/e...

You should go to your local Wal-Mart or auto store and pick up some Duplicolor black truck bed liner in a spray can. 16oz can for $6.99 and it looks killer. You should be able to do that whole sub with 2 coats with one can. That's what I'm using to paint my line arrays with. The sides are stained birch with the front baffle, top, and back in truck bed liner spray. I do a decent undercoat with $0.99 black spray paint first. Best $8 paint job in the world :D

    Listening Test 1 -

First Impressions: these speakers are DYNAMIC - period. For little drivers, they can move some air - quite surpising.

They needed space to really breathe, and once I moved them out a lil bit - they woke up...

They have a cool sound and do vocals real well. They fail real hard with drums, they completely suck at drums. But these are my computer speakers, I can live with that...

    Guitars, etc - great...

Overall a great speaker, better than any computer speaker I've owned! Oh yeah, they sound ALOT bigger than they are...

Mini-tower computer speakers, they're nifty, I wired them for 4 ohms, and I'm going to be using them with the Sonic Impact T-amp. I'll get pics up later tonight, I hope my sister likes them...

    Nice, Trey!

So glad another young lad like yourself is getting into DiY speakers. I gaurantee you'll never buy another speaker in a couple of years because you'll be obsessed with building them. Just give it some time... :D

I worked on my line arrays for 5 hours last night making the two ribbon tweeter holes with recesses (pain in the ****) and cutting out the 20 5" woofer holes with recesses and roundovers on the back so they can "breathe". I'm hoping to have them finished within a week and will post pics for you guys.

    Prepare to be...AMAZED! :p

Haha, OH YEAH! Speaking of recessed, etc etc....

I have found the *perfect* air-tight way to mount those FR drivers...

I mean like drop and screw down....

But I'm not sharing, so :p

If I woulda known my method was as full proof as it was, I wouldnt have needed to chisel out around my holes... DANGIT!!

But I know the perfect way, and you all will be left clueless!

No more OEM? I am about to buy another pair of OEM towers! ;)

Ok, I lied - here ya go, you chickens...

You will still need to use gasket tape however, but its the most full proof method of getting around that ring without a router, etc

Haha, atleast thats how I think I did it...

    ACTUALLY....

Wait - no its not! ha!!!

The below picture is WRONG - this is what I did with the CompuS and it turned out terrible... Scroll below to see the correct picture...

Ight here is how I did it...

The hole is cut for 3.75x3.75 -

However, if u cut a corner piece to go along with the ring - the ring hits it, and then u gotta route the ring - if you cut it, with the ring taken out *mentally* - the driver drops right in...

However, you have to go in at a slight angle with the screws to keep from not hitting anything by chance. However the screw holes will be on solid wood...

Heres an example of it put into place, I chiseled around the holes, because I thought they wouldnt fit - I was wrong.... I had to put some major gasket tape up around the chiseled areas...

With the CompuS - I did the corner pieces like I did in the first picture, and I had a huge problem witht he driver hitting the corners, so then I had to load the sides, etc - down with sealing caulk - turned out terrible.... Live and learn
