Pardon the slow driving, we were having some low end problems. Cams are a bit too radical for a track car. Lots of high end but it ran very poorly below 4000rpm. -

It's still very streetable but for serious track driving a little low end would be nice, especially when it is on miniature track like autocross where it's hard to get out of second gear. -
Sami,
You owned a Quick / Japan Race car, that was turned over to the street due to presure to do so. (from what I read)
Since I'm at lease a bit positive about **** cars own 2 my self, I say ok it's was streetable maybe.
What I'm saying to make myself clear. If you what a stop light racer, it's not top end you need. If you make power at 4 grand, the engine most likely doesn't idle @ anything under 1100 maybe. So you have these problems...
No brakes because you don't have any engine vaccum.
You don't have any AC duct control (due to no vaccum).
You need a high gear rear end to make this work say 4.11 or higher, depends on tire size. So with even a 4 speed auto or a 5 speed stick, you're spinning 3000 to 3500 rpm at 60mph.
Well lets say been there, done that.

I know exactly what you're saying, but the fact of the matter is some people really enjoy trying to drive a basket case on the street. So streetable is a very subjective term like fast, it all depends who you ask.

Just don't make it wild, you will enjoy it.
BTW old enough to say this...
Everyone will say theirs car is faster. You will keep playing until you are the fastest. You then at that moment become an Jerk / A$$ drive to fast. Just something to keep in mind.

Joe, I have none of the problems you mentioned. On a slow traffic day I do prefer taking my Audi but on slow Sunday mornings the GT-R is a joy even at low speeds. Of course it starts to shine when you get some speed and take on tight turns but it really isn't hard to drive. Only thing is stop-and-go, that's not much fun but my next clutch will take care of that problem. That current HKS twin plate isn't known to be user friendly.
Now, if I went with big single or twin turbos with lag then it would be a different story. Starting to make power at 4000rpm might sound bad at first but when it continues to 9000 rpm it really isn't. That's more usable range than in most cars from idle to redline. Right now I have small aftermarket turbos capable of 350hp each, that should be enough for me. Anything over that and it starts to lose drivebility really quick.
No stop light racing for me, no street racing either. I do need power at the high rpms (and higher redline) as this car will see track time the most. No strip, no street racing. Even if I was street racing on stop lights, it will move due to being able to drop the clutch at high rpms. On big enough track the low end wouldn't be a problem as I would be able to maintain rpms in good powerband but on kiddy litter track like autoX the speeds are so slow that it would be a problem. There is still enough power for normal driving but not for getting out of the hole as quickly as it should. -
Sami,
I have to say it's that small high reving motor that is Turbo'd. I say at lease it has some low end to it, I would think anyway.
But I know my wife wouldn't drive it. A little side note. My brother inlaw almost pissed his pants, after I took him for a ride. So I'm not allowed to drive her car alone.
My statement was more for Big cams / Big intake / Big carb's / 2.73 rearend / crowd. Like audio everthing has to be balanced to make it shine.

I definately see your point. There are a lot of cars out there that are fast but not streetable.

man i just got a new clutch installed in my car stealth twin turbo and i dont like it. it usto engague so smoth now i pull it out just a litle and it grabs. it is allmost inposible to engague it smothley is this the right clutch or did they do sothing wrong when installing it

Usually a stronger clutch is not as comfortable as the weaker stock clutch. Look into carbon clutches, some of them are really good; strong and comfortable.
