your sig's lyrics (if that is indeed what they are) sound a lot like pink floyd, but that can't be right... what are they?

I think the drummer is different. The rest of the members are the same. I could be mistaken...

If Im not mistaken Matt Cameron is the drummer. He used to be with Soundgarden.....I think. 12 years ago I could name and bio every drummer in virtually every rock band...now not so much.

I heard that they dropped the napster thing entirely to 'focus on more important things'..... really it was cause they realized they f'ed over the fans they represented in the first place...

First off, what is with these stupid **** names for bands these days? Staind, Saliva, Puddle of Mud, Hoobastank? WTF?!

What happened to names like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, Quiet Riot and my personal favorite, Metal Church?

"Hey whats the name of your band?"
    "Underwear stain!"

Well of course. Its the same old formula.

-You rip off someone elses music and play it in the background.

-You talk about how youre the baddest MC and all the **** want you.

-You have all gold teeth, wear 50 platinum rings and necklaces.

-You gather around a pool with a 1000 other people with a Hummer parked in view.

that's why for rap i like eminem and D12, they tend to be more creative in their lyrics (good and edgy too :D )

have any of you heard the new rap song that sampled "Crazy Train" it sounds cool, but it's just plain wrong... it's like you might have a realy got cousin, but it's wrong to bang her because SHE"S YOUR COUSIN!!!!!

To me, especially being a musician, anything that doesnt have musical instruments being played doesnt count. Rap is NOT music! As hideous as country is I at least respect it cause a lot of them are fine musicians.

But ever since Nirvana, talent doesnt seem to matter much anyways. Alice in Chains and Soundgarden were the last of the bands with really talented musicians.

    Dream Theater Rules!!!

talent - i love the emotion in cobain's voice... but i second the eminem for the lyrics, he's the only rapper i know that isn't just about ho's and **** and 40s and weed (i mean, who else does a remix of a dido song and actually keeps the same theme?) ... and say no to country - good talent, but i just can't take the music...

names - Meatloaf? AC/DC? Hootie and the Blowfish? why not Breaking Benjamin or Korn?

staind - compare their first album (dysfunction) with 'break the cycle'... it's just two totally different characters...

voices - Creed? Disturbed? Evanescence (she's still young, and you can hear it, but who knows in a couple years)? not in the same vein, but alanis or jewel? or seal? all good voices, esp. the first and last (both amazing male vocals, imho).

As far as talent goes the late 80s had it in spades. The hair bands had outstanding musicians. Whitesnake probable being the best. The legengary Tommy Aldridge on drums! Adrian Vandenberg and the awesome Vivian Campbell on guitar and Rudy Sarzo on bass!

Dokken had not only the baddest pretty boy guitarist in George Lynch but one of the best singers ever in Don Dokken.

Alex Skolnik of Testement is one of the best guitarist ever. Vitto Bratta of White Lion and Reb Beach of Winger.

I started playing in bands back then and it wasnt easy because virtually all of the music then was quite difficult and took weeks of practice to play. I could learn an entire album from these **** bands today in about a day!

How bout when Korn covered Metallicas 'One' at some MTV thing. When it came time for the guitar solo, they conviniently skipped over that part. Why? Because he couldnt play it and this is the biggest band out right now and they cant duplicate this baddass Kirk Hammet solo!

yeah, i gotta give it to you, if there's any great talent out there, someone's not letting it step up... but you know you're old when i haven't heard of any of those bands :) (except metallica, duh, and maybe a fleeting mention of whitesnake)
