Hey,
any of you guys replace the power cord on your sub (Svs, or any other brand) with a new more heavy duty one? If so.. did you notice any output difference?
I'm thinking of replacing my sub power cable on the svs with one from Signal Cable. What do you all think? Worth it or not?

I upgraded mine to the SCMP before I even got the subwoofer. I upgrade my AC cords right out of the box. I did A/B's a long time ago, and don't even worry about it anymore as it's on less thing to worry about now. I think they are always a benefit and aesthetically they don't look like woman cords anymore.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

YES, upgrade the power cord and you'll hear a distinct difference. I just upgraded the cord on my Hsu STF-2 and the bass is even better -- stronger and more detailed. As Doro mentioned, I typically change out power cords at the time of purchase for all of my gear. I also have a few DIYers that work just as well as brand name power cords I've purchased.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

agreed with Doro too, replacing stock cable with Signal Cable pc do wonder to my system...I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

which power cord do i order from Frank? the Svs seems to have a different configuration than most other prong type plugs.
two plug blades instead of three bladesPolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Signal Cable Magic Power, it sounded like SVS has one without the ground prong - give Frank a call, he will be able to custom made SCMP for you, with no grounding. Or you can get a regular SCMP and get a cheater plug from RS. I am assuming the two blades prong is on the AC outlet side.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. It doesn't matter about the missing ground pin, it will be the same termination. I have a missing ground pin on my AVR, and use a SC powercord on it just fine.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? No really now... A power cord makes a difference to how a speaker can sound??? You guys are just too much... Why would an electrical cable change the sound.
I have the cheapest extention cords, one with one three possible outlets, and i have them daisy chained so that i can get power to avr/tv/dvd/sub/dvr
Now do you think i really would hear a difference if i used a $50 power strip?Equipment:

Yeah, I doubted it, too, until I tried it. I don't know why it works (and many "experts" don't know either), I just know that it does. Try it and let your ears be the judge. If it doesn't work, return it for a full refund.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Why don't you sign up for the Polk Demo Program and decide for yourself. Good or bad, I don't care, that's for you to find out.

I'm thinking long and hard about installing a lightning rod into the sub, and then maybe upgrading all of the power lines in the area. But seriously, I'm not interested in upgrading my sub's (SVS) power cable. I think the cord they send is sufficient.

I totally agree. The power cable on my PB2+ is just like everything else on the sub, top notch. From internals and drivers, down to switches, control knobs, power cable etc.
