Static from rti10's?

Lately I have been hearing static coming from my left speaker. Kinda sounds like crackling mostly when there is a lot of midrange playing.
I know it is not my speakers, because if I switch them the same thing happens to the left side. It seems to only happen while watching cable tv (it sounds fine with dvd). Also the left side seems to be twice as loud as the right. It is much more noticable when loudness is on (a function on pioneer receivers). This is a 99.9% home theater system.

Is my receiver even capable of driving these speakers properly? I already have another thread going on about which receiver is a good choice for an upgrade.
thanks in advance

Hello,
Thanks for using the Forum. I had a similar problem with my cable reception, noise in one channel. The best thing to do is have the cable supplier exchange the cable converter box. They usually do it right over the counter, I was forunate our Comcast is the building right beside us.
