Go through your OSD for your DVD-Audio player and make sure the .1 channel is enabled.

thanks frank z but sub works fine when i play a dvd via digtal out sub cut out when i go to analog 6ch outs

I understand, but it may still be a setup/configuration problem that can be resolved via your OSD. How about a manufacturer and model number? Someone around here may have the same gear.

Okay lets try a few simple items.
1) Try using the sub cable to connect to a known good channel, Right front for instance. If you get a signal then you know the cable is good.
or
2) Use a known good cable to connect the dvd .1 (sub) output to the receivers sub input.
I took a look at the maual on the Mitsubishi website and it's pretty straight forward. You should be getting a .1 signal if your cables are good, and your Sub is set to "Yes" via the OSD. -
Curt,
Any Progress? -
sorry frank checked witrh new cables still nothing

Hmmmmmmmmmm!
Any chance you could borrow another DVD-a player to connect to your receiver? I'd hate to see you condem the receiver without confirming that the player is not the problem. You might even try taking your player to a local retailer and ask them to connect it to one of their receivers and see if it is infact sending a signal to the .1 output.
At the receiver, remove the cable for the right main channel input and in it's place use the cable from the sub output. Keep your volume level low and see if you get any sound from the speaker when you play a DVD-A disc. This should tell you if the sub output on the player is functioning. -
ill try that will let u know what happens
