I asked this question in the speaker forum, but no response yet.

What is the matching center channel for Polk In-Wall RC85i? I am trying to find a matching in-wall. Is it the TC265i?

Thanks

    Hello David,
Thanks for posting on the Forum. What a large number of home theater owners do when they use an in-wall speaker for the front right and left speaker is combine that with a "regular" center channel speaker, such as the CSi3 or the CSi5 placed on top of the television set. This way they are able to keep the distance between the television set and the center speaker as small as possible.
The other consideration is that the in-wall speakers are not magnetically shielded and could cause a problem if placed too close to a CRT type set.
What type of television are you using?
    Regards, Ken

    Thanks Kenneth for replying.

I will be using a screen for a front projector so sheilding should not be an issue.

Also, what is the biggest difference between RC85i and TC65i?

    Hello,
You're welcome. Correct, stray magnetic fields won't be a problem. The TCi series would correspond to the RTi series in floor standing and bookshelf speakers. Meaning the tweeters and drivers, in the TCi, are very similar to the ones used in the RTi series.
It's probably best to remain with the RCi speakers for the center, either another RC85i or RC65i if a smaller sized speaker is preferred.
    Regards, Ken

Not to hijack, but I am in the same situation as Kenneth.
    except I am using
    RTI A-5 fronts
    RC85I rear surrounds
    RC55I L/R surrounds

I was considering a LCIC for a CC, But would a RC85I laid on its side work as well, as the LCIC or am I causing a situation..

Sorry in advance Kenneth. I have been strucggling with this as well.......

Wow, I did a search for in-wall speakers, and I hadn't noticed that this thread was 6 years old.

If it means anything I just bought the TC265I :-)
