Put them in my other Doom3 pic thread, (as long as they aren't from the last stage of the game).

    Hey guys,

I've thought about getting this game since it came out but am not so sure my computer(Dell) will handle it. It has a Intel pentium 4 @ 2.52 ghz, 256 MB of RAM, and a 64 MB nVIDIA graphics card. I was planning on upgrading to 512 MB of RAM and a 256 MB graphics card, or a better 128 MB.

Will these be good enought to play this game? I was only looking to spend about $220. Is there better for the money? Can you please reccomend something better if there is (from newegg), if it is not a problem. Thanks guy's.

    Jdiggitydogg,

Spend more on your vid card. Essentially if you buy that card now, its obsolete in now-3 months. I know it sucks spending more than a couple bills on a vid card, but you don't want to spend a little less on something that will have a short life.

jdogg, don't get that RAM, its crappy. Corsair makes some good stuff, but that is not it. As stated above, get a vid card.

So I should just concentrate on a video card and not RAM? Do you have suggestions for a good video card.

    Here you go:

When looking for RAM, you want a CAS Latency of 2 or less (sometimes referred to as C2). That C3 stuff is the crap they throw in Dells ;)

    just stumbled onto this thread....

man, i probably have 13 hours logged into the game..... INTENSE! I am playing at 1280x1024 at high settings with 4xAA and 8xAF.... I can do ultra settings, but I personally dont see a difference in image quality.

    System:
    Overclocked AMDXP to 3700+
Geforce 6800 Ultra OC overclocked to 420/1.1
    1GB DDR420 Geil Ram
    Audigy2ZS (hooked to 4 LSi7 and SVS 25-31PC+)

    Two thumbs up!!!:D

    If u want FPS count:
    Press Ctl+Alt+~
    Type: com_showfps 1
    Press Enter

Heres a very cool and easy to use tool to check your FPS and works on all WinXX platforms .

Link to FRAPS . Make sure you download the latest version 2.25 as some older versions may not work on D3 .

now , please turn the lights back on would ya ........ its too scary for me

*EDIT* oops , just noticed this was posted at the other D3 thread , sorry .

Damn those guys were creepy. Even the fat dudes would make you pee your pants. I bet that would be a cool experience late at night in total darkness with the Polk Audios blasting out surround effects!
Do you have any weapons? I did not see that on the site.
