Is this why we haven't gotten a copy of "The Speaker Specialist" in a while?

Pleeeeeeease come to the East Coast gathering.....Troy had mentioned something about a getting you drunk and hooking you up with an albino stripper that uses a can of whipped cream, a spatula, a feather duster and thigh master for a litttle "trick" that must be seen to be believed....I'd hate to miss that....

Polk's loss.....is hopefully your gain! Good luck in your new endeavor.

    Micah,

I'm glad you've found a place you're going to be happier in. I'm sad you're leaving Polk though too. It's selfish on my part, butyou know how it is. I never conversed with you at all, but I know you've helped people out. I know you helped Troy out when he was in Iraq and that was mighty nice of you. I read about that on the forum.

Please keep in touch with some of them so we know where you've moved off to. I'm sure we'd all be interested in what exactly your new endeavors are.

    Take care!

I'm suprised there is still NOTHING official posted from the higher ups at Polk about this.

Are we still wrapped up around the axle about Sandy? So he made a move to Def Tech, what's the big deal? Def Tech ain't got **** on Polk Audio.

What happened to the little speaker company with HEART? Remember the old logo? I know it's still the same company, with the same great people, both core and newbies, but I'm really suprised no one has stepped up to the plate here.

Give me a break, give Micah his due, it's the right thing to do (for the forum if nothing else). Tell us some fun tales of his exploits, what Polk has reaped due to his service. Am I high?

    Cheers,
    Russ

Good luck micah, wish they would just keep you there as I am sure that you were an asset ( not **** ) to the company. They could at least frame a crusty sock to hang in your old office as a momento to your service there......:D Dude I hope you can make it to s.c. and dig some tunes and brew with us, plus it would be an honer to meet you in person. All hail micah and raise a toast to his sucess wherever it may be.....tippin one for ya now bro.

    Take care micah,
    Mike

Russ, it would bode well if they would at least give us some kind of inside track about this. Hey polk.....ya dig?

Perhaps Micah is moving on to bigger and better things.

Honestly folks, it really isn't our busines unless Micah makes it our business. Polk Audio has no obligation to provide any info with regards to personnel/ HR / promotions/retirements, etc.

I'm willing to bet that Micah got a nice send off, just a hunch.

So sorry to see you leave. To me you were the face I saw when thinking of polk audio. I'm really beside myself here. No your not, yes I am, no your not... See? Shut the hell up guys, I'm trying to talk to Micah here.

Just because you leave I hope that will not prevent you from giving us a thread here and there on the forum from time to time. I'm sure every one here is behind you 100% no matter what you decide to do. Best wishes! Man, it just won't be the same. At least let us know what is going on with you. I'm going over to the corner to cry for awhile now, thats ok isn't it??

A lot has changed in the 3+ years I've been on this forum. Sad to say, but mostly for the worse. A lot of good people left and the days of Polk People posting here are long gone.

Like Frank said, Polk owes us nothing on Micah's departure.

People change, desires change, jobs change, it's the way of it. This I'm sure will be a great move for Micah and I again wish him all the best.

I'll always cherish Micah the most for his valuable contributions to my "must have" classical music thread after the ex took all my classical CDs. I printed that thread out and still refer to it when it comes time to buy CDs. :)

That, and all the sock jokes. ;)

The only constant in life is change, guys. Micah's heart called him in another direction, and we should be happy for the great times we shared while he was at Polk Audio.

Godspeed Micah; you'll be missed but not forgotten.

Hey folks I hate to be the one to break the news but the real reason Micah left was to stay home and have a Peter North Film Festival.

You're justified in taking me to task for not posting sooner. As for Paul, you haven't heard from him because he left a few days before Micah for a much deserved vacation. I'm sure he'll be chiming in next week.

It's always difficult when someone moves on. Especially when they are integral to the company. Especially when they're a friend.

Just about 6 years ago, Paul brought Micah in for an interview. I was looking for someone to develop and manage our newest brainchild the "Speaker Specialist." One got an immediate sense of his humor and his enthusiasm. That fact that he knew little about audio was easy to overlook. After all, we had Paul to teach him. Micah jumped in with both feet. He contributed to nearly everything we did in the marketing department. When I asked him to give Paul some help on the forum, he found a whole new set of friends.

Now Micah has left for new challenges. I asked him if he could be convinced otherwise but he was ready to try new things. I wish him the best. He has left many friends. We will miss him.

As for Russman's question of "What happened to the little speaker company with HEART?" That's easy to answer. It's still at 5601 Metro Drive.

Yes the are a lot on new faces but the core of Polk, its philosophy and its culture is still here in the heart of all the old timers. More than half of us have been here for more than 15 years. Many go back to the days of the garage.

Polk is a bigger company than it was when I joined it 19 years ago. Although much has changed, we are still in love with what we do, we still love audio and we still care about our customers.

Micah's presence here will be hard to replace. But we have not changed. While Micah may have put his unique spin on it, Micah picked up the culture of Polk...not the other way around.

    Wow....

    Thanks Al.

Make no mistake, I think we all know that Polk Audio is the same Polk Audio that we all know and love. I also think that your last statement is the one that we all needed to hear, to be honest.

For my part, I've actually been to HQ Polk and got to meet Al and Paul and the others and the lovely Wendi put it best, I think, when we were leaving, said that Polk is a place where people are doing what they love. For others on the forum whose only connection to Polk is the forum, Micah was Polk Audio. We view the forum as more of a family than an anonymous bulletin board and when a member departs, the sense of loss is real and tangible. The fear is that the importance of the grassroots support that we represent left with Micah.

    Anyhow, thanks for chiming in.
