Bacon is great!! Either regular, BBQ, or my favorite.... Deep fried beer battered bacon.
Hmmm.... where is that deep frier?
Oh no, the wife got rid of it.....ARGHHHH."Sure, everything looks bad if you remember it!" -

Speaking of things I didn't need to read!
I'm a big fan of bacon and just pork fat in general. It's more flavorful than butter for frying eggs or even french toast. It also doesn't burn as quickly.
It's great for wrapping around a thick filet so it doesn't dry the ends out when you throw it on the grill!
Throw some bacon in with your green beans for an awesome side dish! Bacon and cheese omletes are just lovely! Throw some bacon in with your hash browns! My mother makes a mean potato salad where one of the main ingredients in bacon! Hell, I even put bacon bits on my salad!
And nothing beats an ice cold cream soda and a BLT with big, juicy Jersey Beefsteak tomatos on a hot summer afternoon!
Bacon rules! It's one of the few foods that can be a garnish, a side dish or a main course all it's own!
So I may die early due to cholesterol poisioning like so many people would have me believe but at least I'll die happy with my tummy full of bacon!
Oh and for an even better treat with your usually bland string beans is to french cut teh string beans and mix in some fried almonds! That's good eatin'!Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Anybody that's listening to Funkadelic is better than those that are not. That's too cool.
I'm not a big bacon fan. Sometimes if it's not overcooked or on a sandwich. That's about it. I prefer sausage.Make it Funky! -

Chicken strips, jalapenos, bacon. Roll the chicken on bacon and add a few slices of pickled jalapenos in between. Grill.
As for diet advice and the low carb mumbo, it's all about calorie intake. Higher intake than consumption, you will gain weight. Carbs are an important part of your diet just like fat, protein, minerals and vitamins. Instead of being paranoid of carbs in general, pay more attention to the type of carbs you are eating. Fibre is a carb hard to live without while processed carbs contain very little nutrients.
