I voted "all the time" because I like it for breakfast, but a restaurant around here makes the greatest burger... 1/2lb w/ cheese, slathered in barbeque sauce (their special blend) and 2 huge planks of bacon. *drool*
    Ludicrous gibs!

For those looking to lose weight or reduce cholesterol levels, it's not about fat consumption, it's about carbohydrate consumption.

I eat it almost anytime. As a matter of fact, we made a dinner not long ago of BLT's (Gourmet, with applewood smoked thick sliced bacon, baby Boston bib lettuce, and Jersey tomatoes picked out of the field right before dinner. Man you wanna talk about good!!)

You can diet all you want to, but actually it's all about eating right and exercise. You don't REALLY need to follow a specific diet IMHO, just do the right thing. Free you mind and your **** will follow...

Low Carb Diets are only for those who are very "inactive". You need Carbs for energy, plain and simple.

As for bacon, I don't eat it as much as I used to, but only because I don't have time for a "cooked" breakfast anymore.

As for dinner, it's ok, but I prefer steak.

I do a lot exercising, and weight lifting. A friend recommended the Mayo Clinic diet, and I know it's a low carb diet, which meant less energy, but for some reason, it's been the opposite for me. I need to lose about 15 lbs, and, the diet claims I can lose 10 lbs in 10 days, so I thought "what the hey", I'll give it a try. This is my 4th day so far. Tomorrow I should start losing, hopefully. That reminds me, it's almost time for dinner. What kind of meat should I eat tonight, guys?

I grew up on a farm...with lots of cows...Sometimes I would throw rock clumps at 'em. We had this one cow, she had horns, and she was very territorial. One day, when it came time for feeding, one of the other cows got too close, and this **** slams her horn into the side of her face. She pulled away, and the cow was missing an eye. Poor thing. So, for about 3 weeks, she just ran around, with one eye. Other side of her face was a bloody mess. When she ran, bloody chunks would fall out of her socket. When she ate, blood would shoot out. We ended up getting her corraled. I got a good look at her, and inside this gapping hole where her eye should be was a HUGE swarm of maggots. I felt bad for her. My dad took her off to the market, and she was sold...

Might I add that exercise helps in those two areas as well. And if I am not mistaken, dietary cholesterol plays a bigger impact on blood cholesterol than either fat or carbs.

    Fat does also affect weight.

Fat doesn't make fat, carbs make fat and cholesterol ... Try it yourself ... take your weight and have your cholesterol levels measured via simple blood tests ... cut out the carbs for a month while eating all the fatty foods you want and recheck the results ...

The best counter example I can think of is the plethora of "low fat" foods that have hit the market place while people get fatter and fatter ... Check the contents ... The low fat foods have a lot more carbs in them ...

i have a friend who just lost 50 lbs on a LOW FAT diet. he ate foods that were low in fat.. and increased his excersise by a huge amount. he didn't count carbs or anything other than cut out the fats and salts and sugars in his diet. he lost weight.

not every diet will work for every person.

fat is fat. a lifestyle low in fats is going to be better than one high in fats.

i love bacon. but i've cut way down on it the past few years. Actually i've cut down on most meats in general.. i replaced them with turkey instead. Turkey isn't fat free. but it's lower in fats.

I've been eating tuna from a can or pouch.. low in fats, carbs. and high in protein. yummy.

honestly it's all about one's metabolism versus carb intake. if you can handle lotsa carbs, go for it. if not, either get met. up or don't eat so much. Also all those wierd diets about don't do this or eat that... all do one thing: they in some way disrupt the ability to process carbs and fats into energy, which when not used becomes fat. So if you don't have an essential vitamin, etc. your body just can't work right.

    Back to bacon:
Here's a great one, try a toasted roll or bread, put a grilled chicken breast, monterey jack chese (jalapeno kind if ya want) and about 4 bacon strips... It's a great little meal. I used to microwave all the ingredients, took about 6 min to make altogether.

    DB,

If one goes from doing little or no exercise to a regular routine and eats sensibly and one has 50 pounds to give up then one will clearly lose weight and you'll certainly get no argument from me that low carb, low fat is better than just low carb.

Everyone needs to shut their pieholes on the diet advice, and what does and does not cause changes in your weight, cholesterol, etc.

Unless you are a nutritionist or Doctor, shut the F up. I've seen half you ****'s, and you're all effin tubby. Bunch of fat effers giving diet advice, it's like taking gambling advice from the bum in the streets of Vegas.

I actually have a few slices of raw bacon crammed in my **** crack right now. Feels GOOD.
