Center CSi5 noise and Television

Hi all,

I notice really little noise (ears closed to the speaker) from the center channel speaker, which is placed on top of the television, when I turn on the TV. If I move the speaker away from the TV, the noise will go away.

Is the noise because of the RF interference from the TV? Is there another way to avoid the noise without moving the speaker?

Thanks.

    Hello,
Thanks for posting your, very interesting, situation. Can you give me a little more information on the nature of the noise? Is it a humming sound or is it a random static-like noise? Does anything change if you remove the speaker wire coming into the speaker? In other words, what happens if you remove the speaker wires from the back of the speaker but still leave the speaker sitting on the set?
Do things change if the speaker wire, itself, is moved around. What I'm trying to find out is what the noise might be caused by and how it's getting into the speaker.
    Regards, Ken

    Thanks all for your replies.

    Here is what I did:

    1. Removed all speaker wires hooked up to the center speaker.

    2. Cleared everything that were closed to the speaker that might cause static or related interference (antenna, power cords..). Just the TV and the unwired center speaker on the top of the TV.

    3. Turned off the receiver and the power amp.

    4. Turned on the TV and tested with different TV input modes (Component1 and 2, AV1 and AV2..), then I placed my hears closed to the center, I heard some tiny static sound from the speaker (with every input mode).

    5. Moved the speaker to the right (still on top of the TV), the noise was weaker. Moved the speaker to the left (still on top of the TV), the noise was a little bit louder. It seemed like that noise came from the left side of the TV, and somehow it reproduced in the speaker. Moved the speaker upward, the noise went away.

The TV is HD Samsung TXN3075WHF.

    Thanks for reading and help.
