Hello everyone,
So I just really realized that UHD Blu ray players are coming harder and harder to find new. Panasonic is really the only quality one left, there is a OPPO rip off company, Minatar or something like that, I don't think that player plays SACD and DVD audio discs which is a must for me.
Yeah I don't buy discs anymore and like most of you stream everything. But I still have a pretty solid collect of discs from time to time I like to throw in once in awhile especially music. Movies are nice here and there, I have some really good ones and when you hear them vs streaming, it's so night and day difference makes me want to go back.
I have 2 Sony players left, I sold all my high end players back in the day, My Oppo and my Cambridge. So I have a Sony UHD1000es which is old, skips discs once in a while and I should have replaced it with the Sony UHD 1100es when that came out back then but it worked just fine, I purchased the Cambridge and the Oppo so I really didn't need it then. I also have a Sony X700 which works just fine but it's a sub $400 player , not even up to my standards, it's a plastic box small and cheap. Yeah it works, sound great but man I'm gonna start looking for some players on the market.
Sony Stopped the X800m2 which was probably their last decent player. I found one used near me I may go grab it, dude said be barely even used it maybe a few times , it's like new. Might just need to have so I have it in case.
I don't want a Panasonic , they only play CD musically no SACD or DVD audio which is funny as they where big into DVD audio back in the day and had some nice players, we are going back aways.
Honestly , I now miss the days of past, I feel ike something in my life just keeps falling away from me. Upsets me to be honest.

You may be thinking about Krovatar. They have a mid-range 300 model that is truly universal. Looks like an Oppo knock off. They also have an improved 500 model coming out in the next few weeks. Don't forget that Oppo was/is a Chinese consumer electronics brand.

I still find the Darbee version to be a bit superior for Blu-Ray video output compared to the 2XX models. Better than most 4K streaming content too. -
I know what you mean, streaming down under doesn't compete with the Movie sound quality of a good 7.1,4k UHD disc for me.
"Magnetar UDP 800 "......,With. DOLBY VISION, HDR10+, HDR, DVD-A, SACD, DOLBY ATMOS, DTS-X is the knockoff for an oppo205 down under.
I'll be keeping one of my 205's for the future , Joe Rasmussen is currently doing another power supply upgrade to them and I have really missed it in the last week.
Are there many 205's on the market there?

The Magnetar UDP-900 MKII reminds me of the top of the line universal players from 20 years ago. Stout!
