I'd like to know why he thinks he has the right to know who they are? Why is it so important to him?
Crap like this is why there are always 1000+ guests on the forum, but very few who actually sign up.

You don't find it odd that someone (singular) would say "hey I'm back", but never divulge who they were? Someone who was banned and returned under a different name? Nothing stands out about that, no curiosity? No desire to get an idea of who that was?

I wasn't banned. I quit because the forum stopped being constructive back then. Ken just marked me as banned for some reason but it didn't really matter too much to me at that time. The people at Polk reinstated me after I asked them to. I didn't re-register under a new screen name to skirt the rules. Unlike some people, I respect the rules and the code of conduct on forums. I respect others and don't condone bullying or anyone else's bad behavior. I'm here for an enjoyable experience and to hang out with fellow Polk enthusiats.

Then just say that. “Hey, when I left, it wasn’t on the best terms so I’d prefer a fresh start. I hope everyone will understand and honor my request. Thank you.”

Naw, I don't think anyone's trying to run me off. Deep down they're just a bunch of kind-hearted good ole boys. This is just their way of saying they love me and want me to join in the fun. I think they want me to join their Audio Militia too.

Hey William, I will try to answer that for you and for the record, this is in a positive manner.

Who are the "usual suspects" This thread started by someone saying they were back, and we as Polkies tend to welcome people with open arms, that hasn't changed. Then this person said they were marked as banned and had to register as a new name. The first person to ask about the old name or "pseudo" was.... @The_Mandalorian. and @MuchoReverbo also didn't even reply to him who he was.

It's not 'demanding in nature" it was a simple request... There's a flip side to this however given this day and age and I cannot think it wouldn't perk the interest of people.

Let's say there's a block party, cul-de-sac is closed off, families are gathering and someone walks up and says "Hey, I used to live in the hose down the road, just driving by and wanted to say hi to everyone" Then someone who lives there says..."Oh, which house" The reply was..."Oh, just down there"

'What's your name?"

"Um...just call me Bob"

I wonder how that would go down...what would you say to this person if they were around your family?

Nobody here wants to run people off, they just want to know who they are interacting with. These people may get shared emails, phone numbers by request, want to sell things or purchase items from other members, it's not just a 1D interaction here.

You have to look at it from a perspective of situational awarenss, which includes a security aspect. Once a member here reaches 100 posts, they they can conduct financial transactions with others. I don't understand how in this day and age, someone wouldnt at least want to know who they had been interacting with. I'm not saying or implying that Mucho was here in bad taste, but he wasn't here under that name as stated by Mucho himself. This line of thought, at least by me, goes into a simple question of "What was your former username"

This wasn't someone who just joined fresh, this is someone who said they were here before, mistakenly banned, then resurfaced under a new name...two different things.

Let's say hypothetically that a member here conducted fraudulent transactions in the past, it's happened....then had a bad reputation and was banned. Then later emerged with a convincing story while not revelaing who they were before. Again, I'm not implying that for Mucho, but that would be for anyone who is doing the same....you can't be naive in this world today. This is likely the normal mindset and thought process of many people, doesn't need to be portrayed at every interaction, but is the basis for some questions.

So what's the 'same forum attitude" , people with some SA looking out for others like we have done so for years?

This was never a 'glass half empty" interaction, but it seems to be portrayed that way.

If I were to join the "Audio Militia" would I have to go in as a Private or could I possibly join as a Second Lieutenant or higher? I did graduate from college and that usually gets you in as a commissioned officer.
