Well the wooden deck finally had to go. We bought the house in 1992 & it was there already, 34yr life span is pretty good! It didn't owe me anything.
In 2002 I had a pool put in & using Trex had a big deck built around it.
I kept the lower wooden deck because it still looked beautiful.
The lower deck now was re-decked using Trex in a picture frame design and. It came out really, really nice. All in all the 2 combined decks are approx. 900 sq ft. We had many large pool parties when the kids were young & especially during baseball season. Not so much anymore.

We had a synthetic deck on our last house. In the seven years we lived there it developed several soft spots, not unlike natural wood may have otherwise done. I'm sure the product has improved in the last 20+ years since that one would've been installed. Your deck looks amazing and like it was done with excellent attention to detail.

I have nothing but good things to say about trex.
It should be noted for an exposed structure your joist should be 12 inch on center.
My front porch is 16 but is covered and it's been 6 years no issues.
I built a crawl space door 15 years ago that still looks awesome.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Trex is definitely a top notch product. I stayed with Trex because the Trex pool deck is now 24yrs old & still looks fantastic! No issues with it at all after all the years.
It took me quite awhile to feel comfortable with the contractor I went with. I had quotes that left me speechless to say the least.
Pretty much the deck was done by one guy...Lucas. The man was so maticulus & it really shows in the final outcome. Happy as a clam!!

My Trex deck is almost 30 years old and it's still fabulous. I think the only thing I did to it was after 20 years I pressure washed it.Gustard X26 Pro DAC

I used to use a pressure washer also but got tired of the hassle with that thing.
Now since I use liquid chlorine for my pool & figured why not try that for cleaning. Man oh man I should have done that 20yrs ago. I make a 50/50 mix with water in a gallon pump sprayer. I use it on everything...Trex, aluminum siding, all pool furniture, concrete etc, etc. You name it it works like a charm.
Simply hit whatever you want to clean with the hose, spray the chlorine on & let it set for just a few minutes then hose it off...looks like you just bought it.
Rather inexpensive also about 20.00 for 5gal at the pool store.

Doesn't the run off hurt plants, grass, etc? Certainly can't be great for the environment............not that there aren't a million other things too. I'm trying to switch to a less harmful, bug and weed killer just to do my minuscule part to pollute less.
Genuinely curios, not judging.
