I have a pair of 80’s speakers but can’t find any information on them. I want to clean them up and see if they sound as good as I remember. yx5725v9h9bx.jpeg

    I'd forgotten those existed. Polk magnetically shielded the drivers so the speakers could be placed near to CRT television sets of the day. And they're ported!

    I get 29% greater external enclosure volume, yet they weigh 1 lb per pair less. Weird. And that is with the shields on the midwoofers and tweeter. I guess the SL2000 tweeter and crossover weighs much more than in these.

    The VS19 got the same lower end extension (28 Hz @ -9dB) as the 5B using a port instead of the passive radiator, and only needed about 11% greater enclosure volume to do it, with a 2" narrower baffle.

    Yep. 1-3/4" taller, 1/2" wider, 2-1/8" deeper. I'm guessing the MW6504 was just a MW6502 with shielding.
