I have a pair of 80’s speakers but can’t find any information on them. I want to clean them up and see if they sound as good as I remember.

I'd forgotten those existed. Polk magnetically shielded the drivers so the speakers could be placed near to CRT television sets of the day. And they're ported!

Looks taller than the M4A with tweeter and midwoofer shielded.

Looks like the physical size of a 5Jr enclosure.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

I get 29% greater external enclosure volume, yet they weigh 1 lb per pair less. Weird. And that is with the shields on the midwoofers and tweeter. I guess the SL2000 tweeter and crossover weighs much more than in these.George / NJ

Thinner cabinet?

They'd get some mods.Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

The VS19 got the same lower end extension (28 Hz @ -9dB) as the 5B using a port instead of the passive radiator, and only needed about 11% greater enclosure volume to do it, with a 2" narrower baffle.George / NJ

That's actually impressive. I'd Power Port them first thing.
Maybe I missed it. Are they actually taller than 5Jr's?

Yep. 1-3/4" taller, 1/2" wider, 2-1/8" deeper. I'm guessing the MW6504 was just a MW6502 with shielding.George / NJ

That would be a solid guess.Gardenstater wrote: »I'm guessing the MW6504 was just a MW6502 with shielding.
