Someone is selling a pair of Polk VS19 speakers (with stands) locally on Craigslist. Never heard of them and don't see any references to them on Polk's vintage products list. I have not personally seen them but is this a correct model # and if so any thoughts of quality? They are also asking $350 which I am assuming is probably way high. I am more curious than interested.

Thanks

...I stand corrected, these have got to be Polks least known speakers...

The model number is correct. I would say that, yes, the price is way high; unless you are looking for something rare.

Why do I save this stuff? I might have to send my library to the Polk web master so they can complete theirs.

Interesting. Can't read what all is in you scan but looks like these are "vintage", same as my CRS+. They appear in pretty good shape from the craigslist picture. Doubt they'll get much action at that price. Would be curious how they sound however. Speakers specifically for television reproduction would kinda make me nervous.

To me they look like a variation of the Polk Monitor 4A - looks like the same mid and tweeter I had in my pair, same little port underneath too. Maybe these are a black vinyl shielded version of the Polk monitors?

If that's the case then I think that these may be overpriced by a factor of 10 - the Monitor 4As are nice but the 5s and 7s are waay nicer....

The schematic is dated 1984 and shows that it used a MW-6504 shielded mid-woofer and a shielded tweeter.

Can't say that I ever heard of the MW-6504.

If you zoom in you should be able to read it. I may be able to send a higher resolution scan if needed.

    skrol, cool as hell!
Hang on to that stuff, I think it is awesome.

Never knew that model existed until today.

I have heard of the VS (mainly the 10?), but never the 19.

Cool stuff, I enjoy reading that literature.
