Spiderman 2

Just like you all thought... kick ****!! In fact more kick **** then you think it will be. A little bit long, but they did tie up a lot of loose ends, that will make the third movie be nothing but action. This movie is classic Raimi, if you have seen the evil dead series you will get a blast from the past here. The action scenes were absolutely incredible, fast and insane. Well worth the ticket.

I took the kids today to see it I was expecting a great time, but I got even more out of it then expected. This movies was breath taking,I think I even shed a tear.I wasn't prepaired for that level of movie mnaking.Excellence....was achived.
If your a fan of Marvel comics,do youself a huge favor and see the movie. As history tell us that the first is mostly the best, not the case here.I think this one surpasses the first and takes this saga to a new level.
I will see it again and again then bu the DVD and watch it yet again,

My HomeTheater will be waiting - it won't take long.

I am probably going to be alone on this one, but - what a piece of ****. Compared to the first, this movie was a total ****. At longest, it should have been one hour, not too. Everything was drawn out way too long. They have been making the comic for how many years now? Now was not a good time to not have a plot. This movie was ****. I imagine the SQ on DVD (unless they eff the transfer too) will be pretty good.
Bottom line- cheesy, very, very poorly directed, and far too long. -

i am so there with you dude... the last 5 or 6 movies have been a horrible experience.. kids talking, kicking the seats, babies crying, kids running in the aisles, and that was before the movie even started. then it got worse. much worse.
just not worth trying to watch a good movie for the first time. and having the 13 yr old punk kid behind you with his feet right next to your face.. and kicking your set with this other foot.
not worth it anymore to go to a movie. i've got better bass than most of the theaters anyways. ha ha ha.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Why do you feel that way?Not enough action for yeah?To much story?I'm a fan for comics,I don't buy them anymore but years ago I used to buy them every week.
Yes I believe you'll be standing alone on your feeling.

It's a comic book movie, supposed to be cheesy, or were you thinking that if you got bit by a radioactive spider you'd really have superpowers? As far as the directing was concerned, you must not have liked Evil Dead either. Spiderman 2 had so much Raimi in it, it practically screamed "We'll swallow your souls!". I will agree with the too long comment, but seems like every movie that has come out lately is 2+ hours.
Anyway since you don't agree with me, you die, you die and go to hell.:DThere are two ways to argue with women. Both of them are wrong. -
I have to agree that Spiderman 2 was a bit of a let down. It's not that there wasn't enough action, but it just had too many glaring problems. For one, in the first film they portray Spiderman as a real man who has these spider abilities and is more agile and strong than a normal person. However, in this film, they throw him off buildings, smash him against rock walls, use his body to stop a train, and it just got to be too much for me. Really, even for Spiderman, a car wouldn't break a fall sufficiently to walk away with no injuries. I know, it's just a movie, but I think it went a little over the top. I was also disappointed at how little Doctor Octopus was in it. It took a long while to introduce him in the first place, and then he just disappeared for the middle of the film. And the fact that the scenes where he shows up are so much fun, that really makes the middle a little boring. It wasn't a bad film, I enjoyed it, but I was also let down. Frankly I'm a little tired of people saying, oh it was corny or over the top because it's a comic book movie. Just because it comes from a comic book, doesn't mean it shouldn't be a quality movie, able to stand up against any other film. X-Men 2 was so much better than Spiderman 2, because it dealt with character struggles in more subtle ways, had better dialogue, and better acting. I don't feel X-Men was too corny or over the top, and that came from a comic book too. Anyway, Spiderman was decent, but the writer could really learn a thing or two about subtlety and restraint before drafting the third film. And was anyone else really put off by those scenes where Uncle Ben and Norman Osborn came back to talk to their respective sons?Current System:

Here goes nothing. Some mini-spoilers, so, beware
I believe in all good writing that less is more. So, in any good movie, don't introduce the viewer to anything that they don't need. Spiderman 2 was full of scenes that could be completely, if not mostly omitted and the weak plot would still progress just fine. My list of scenes we could have done without:
Opening Pizza scene; there are better, faster ways to show us that Peter Parker is a struggling student/superhero.
Burning building scene; we already know that his powers are dwindling and that he now wants to be Spiderman again. Delete scene.
MJ's play scene; yes we know, MJ loves him, he loves her, blah blah blah. This point was made long ago.
House for sale: why is this even important? This just distracts from the rest of the plot. It was a reason to visit the bank, but, I went to the bank earlier this week and my house isn't being foreclosed.
Why are we introduced to the professor? Just show us a shot of Parker's midterm with a big F on it at his apartment. Simple and effective.
And there are more, but this is enough for now.
A lot of the scenes could simply have been shortened. This is where I blame poor directing. Here are some examples; train scene (how long do I have to look at Tobey's O-face?), too many, and too-long close-ins on screaming women with nice ****, less of Parker's boss, only one time do we need to see that his powers are failing him. Once and move on. The scene where the butler gets yelled at, we know Harry is a little bit of a jerk, we don't need this.
And finally, this had me steaming, don't spend the last five minutes of a movie pitching me the sequel. If the movie is good enough, you don't need to pitch the sequel. Hell just do what Back to the Future did; at the end of the movie before the credits, just tell us you are already making the sequel. Thats much better.
Anyways, thats how I feel. It was an okay movie, but also a big disappointment. -

I think, although it was funny, we could have done without the stupid 2 minute elevator scene...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Took the kids to see it yesterday, my feelings on it are 50/50. Going along with others, just seemed to be to overplayed at times. As far as PQ and SQ, thought it was excellent overall. When the action scenes kicked inn, which I felt were not enough of them, the movie was kick ****. Will be a another one to my collection as soon as it hits DVD. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10 movie experience. By the way, wasn't MJ smoking hot in that sun dress all soaking wet, DAMUM.:DMoney Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

Gotta agree with Shizelbs,
I understand they're trying to show Spidey is still human with everyday problems but the tone of the movie seemed to be all over the place.
They really hammered the fact that Peter is short on cash. Or that Harry Osborn is still harbouring his hatred for spiderman. Nothing wrong with all that but it was so laboured.
Some awkward funny moments here and there. All the little subplots bordered on being a soap opera.
Overall I still liked the movie. Better than most flicks out there these days. The subway scene was thrilling and Alfred Molina made a great Doc Ock.

I was pretty disappointed. I had heard it was better than the 1st one. Boy were they wrong! The premise was already set, but it went no where. It ended up being a very long, sad movie, with minimal plot and story, and some really awesome action sequences.
Spoiler?
WTF is up with him losing his powers? He's a genetically modified mutant. These aren't "faith based" abilities. It's a part of him. Remember his amazement in the first movie? All of a sudden he can't climb a frickin' wall unless he really, really want to. Give me a break!Make it Funky!
