S4. The bass speaker only goes to about 3.5 out of 5 volume.

What could cause this. The warranty is out. Worked great for over a year. Any help is appreciated

Welcome to Polk's forum. Are you saying the LED status lights only blink 3 times when you raise the bass level?

Well it's the led lights. Only 3 of the five go on. The 4th and 5th light don't go on. I just use that much bass when I'm watching movies.
