Polk PSW111

I have a Polk psw111 that makes a quiet rythmic popping sound when powered on (no inputs). I assume it's an internal electrical issue. is there a fix for this? should I take it to an audio repair store? used to work perfect but a roommate over powered it (put volume too high I think) and I think that's what caused it to gain this popping issue. here's a link to a video with said sound.

Hello,
Welcome to the Polk forum. It's a little difficult to tell positively from that video, but it seems likely that there is a problem with the amplifier. How long have you owned the subwoofer and are you the original owner? -

I'm second hand owner. I've had it for a few years. been like this for the past 3 (just got other subs but this one is nice and I've been putting off fixing it). -
You should be able to take the subwoofer amplifier out of the enclosure and bring it to any electronics service center. If they don't have the schematic it can be provided. Usually the problem is with power supply filter capacitors and sometimes regulators, all easily diagnosed.
