Aragon 8008x3. No output from channel 3π. Live in SE PA. There's Mort's and EBC that I'm aware of. Would like to drive it there rather than risk shipping a 70lb amp. Any locals have a suggestion? @mantis , with your background, you likely have some experience. Any help appreciated. Yes I've thought about just replacing it. Would like to explore repair options first.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Bummer, I went through that a few years back. Luckily your amp is pretty well known with service manuals and easily found replacement parts. I don't know any techs in that area, but if they've been around awhile and they have a long wait, they are probably good. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

If the EBC you reference is this outfit, I can absolutely recommend them - I had them repair a Velodyne plate amp, and their service was excellent, and pricing was quite fair.

Yes, that's the place. I'm leaning towards going there.

So, here's the rest of the story. I decided on having EBC Electronics do the repair. Also had an overall refresh done getting the small caps replaced. Decided to drive it there instead of risking shipping a 70lb amp. About 2 hrs each way. Paul was great to work with. Easy to make an appointment. Repair and refresh was very reasonable cost wise. Done in less than 3 weeks. Amp sounds great!
I was impressed enough to drop of my 555 for a complete refresh when I picked up the Aragon.
Two thumbs up for Paul at EBC! -

As far as I know, bone stock. I've owned it for probably 15 years. To my untrained eye, the internals look to be untouched. DC offset in one channel was around 40mv. That hasn't changed since I've owned it. Sounds great, but I'm aware what can happen with these if things go south. It is mint in every way so I thought a preventive refresh was in order.

Nice. Hope when it's done it performs well. I've only heard of the upgrades here on CP. The one I had was stock as well. Very SDA compatible.. Enjoy your Aragon break in. Hope you report back as well.. I have the Acurus 200/3 it works fine & in time it will need to go to the shop for refresh as well. I may have to ship it out, slim pickings on repair shops in Maine..
